  • Day off today. Veg shopping, went to nearby pub for a takeout. Then went to local for a beer and some baked Camembert. Mmm, garlicky. Now home, Christmas tree up, bra off and takeout ale being slurped. Later some red wine and rum, I think.

Dunno. As a wise old aunt of mine used to say "you cry at weddings, laugh at funerals"
Been to a few where people had gone before their time, but still holds true, I suppose.
Apologies if this is raw, or otherwise. Just the way I see it.

I've been to 4 in the last 2 years. My mother's, my father's, my OH's father and a good friend of mine.
It makes me think that my funeral expenses will include a party fund and a mandatory clause: Chris Barber played very loud.

Shit, that's rough Pinno, and guess makes my flippant comment look like some twat Gobbing off. I hope those who were in pain are free from it, and those who are left and in pain for their loss can somehow come to to terms with it.
Awful time of the the year for this to happen (is there a good time?), but peace and love to you all. It must be a difficult time.

I didn't take any offence to your comment BBG nor did I see it as flippant.

Too thick skinned for that and besides, you gotta laugh as per your Aunt's sentiments.

This. You go to celebrate a life lived and support the loved ones still here.
Went to the pub about 4ish. Tomorrow will be a very slow start.

Working on a Sunday? Bad drills. Hope you can recover this by making the boss pay for your time in ale and pies.

Whilst I was in a pub it looks like it was all kicking off in the kicking off thread.
I'd rather go to the pub.

Haven't seen the trouble yet, she should be sound asleep. I'm sure I won't wake her.

Set one up. Judging by the number of p1ss heads there seem to be round there, you'd make a killing at chucking out time :)
