If any of you don't know where you left your BMW last night, there was one parked in the Basingstooke Canal this morning, nose down. In drlodge's neck of the woods, about 200 m from the nearest road access Two PCs were on site, "wondering where to put the parking ticket"

Just got back, not seen the wife yet so no idea what mode she'll be in. Hopefully sound asleep and I won't change that.
Thankfully I don't have a BMW and haven't been to Basingstoke lately.

The realisation (not for the first time) that t'inernet is a waste of time and that I'd have been better off staying in the pub. Sounds like a good idea, Bye y'all.......
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Hmm, I appear to be several sheets to the wind. How did that happen?

    I was gone.
I'm having the same realisation now that I am sober though...

I need the pub. Works van is looking at a 3k repair job as someone "forgot" to get the bloody thing serviced so the fleet warrantly is invalid.
What does it need? If servicing wouldn't have prevented the problem you may be able to argue the case.
I'm off to the pub momentarily.

  • There should be a sizeable discount as they can't spell the word "swap"

Hmm, difficult to prove without paying for a report. The question that would have to be answered is why did it overheat? Would servicing have prevented it. If those things can be proved you might have grounds to argue the case. The manufacturers do all they can to wriggle out of paying warranty.
  • Thanks for that, I've just fired off an email to them asking the above.

I doubt we will get anywhere but an email costs nowt!

Not wishing to piddle on anyone's chips but 4 grand is a lot of good will to ask for.
Must confess that I was a garage proprietor, I wouldn't budge much.

The garage doesn't pay. They are the intermediary between the owner and the manufacturer. The warranty is with the manufacturer. The manufacturer wants repeat business so may be more flexible and take a long view. Its worth keeping the dealer on side.
  • Solved.

Lease co pay 75% with a 25% contribution from Ford Fleet. Ford fleet declined their 25% because of servicing meaning that's the bit we need to fund so £4261.43 is now £1065.36.

Not ideal but better than the kick in the balls we were expecting.

Now to kick the works manager in his balls.

Have the works manager's ball been suitably re-aligned yet?

A day off ending in the pub is no issue at all. When it starts in the pub however then it may well be a problem.
