Quick update on the sponsoring of refugees. Mrs. 666 got the details (via the charity we signed up with) of a Ukrainian lady with 2 young-ish kids who used to live in Enerhodar in the South but is now staying in a village near the Polish border. We will be trying to make contact by email etc initially to see if this is a sensible match.

Hats off. Good luck to you.
Thanks - TBH I initially baulked at taking on 3 refugees (incl a 7 yo and 2 yo) but we have the room and Mrs. 666 was happy to take on the challenge.

    Best of luck, Stevo.

I've just found out that the 2-bed flat I moved out of in February remains empty and is therefore going to be made available to a Ukranian family with 2 children. I don't know any of the details but I do know that it is being sorted through a charity.
Ta - that has to be a good use of vacant property!

Apparently she used to work at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant before the Russians took it over. That's the one that was shelled by the Russians quite early on in the conflict. Speaks reasonable English and already has biometric passports and other stuff likely to be needed so sounds like she is quite clued up.

Fingers crossed. No guarantees this will go through, and may take some to get it all sorted. We've been up front that while we have the room and a good environment for kids, we are in a village with no amenities bar a school, small kids play area, postbox, 2 pubs and not a lot of public transport.

tbf, its probably in Islngton North where he has elected since 1983 without, bizarrely, being a serial adulterer, liar, convicted criminal, repeatedly sacked from jobs for lying, taken any dodgy payments for refurb work, been bribed by Russisn billionaires and a total turbo moujee lke de pffefel.

Did your dog type that for you or is it written in some obscure dialect only familiar to theMFfam? Is Russia a communist country ? Don’t really think it’s seen as one tbh. There’s a small village called Moscow south of Glasgow in Scotland- if they last elected a communist, and that’s the place your referring to then my bad.

Looks like the first aid kit from Millets that everyone has when they go for a walk up Snowdon. Probably all the plasters have been used in the house and there's just a triangular bandage, a few dried out steri wipes and some rusty safety pins.

You could try something a bit more up to date.

Dunno if you've noticed, but that disaster of a politician hasn't had the keys to the granny flat for a few years now. And given that I don't think one poster on here has a good thing to say about him, your jibes rather miss the target.

    grazie! v interesting.

    thats utterlyshyte, on both sides.

Russian: shyteIV use tourniquet - useless for cat haem. old 1940s style bandage. At least they have puritabs so they won't get the trots making a brew sfterwards. and thats it. sheeeesh.

Ukranian is pretty tat tbh - 1x blast dressing, couple of pairs of gloves, some shears, bit of haemostatic gauze, a pen with no paper and a NP airway with no lube.

and - worst of all and something I've been known to rip people's heads off for - a tourniquet in its wrapper. Worse than useless. kicking offence.

i carry more useful stuff in my pockets, let alone webbing or grab bag. I wouldn't let my bods out of the front gate with that stuff.

I feel sorry for the poor sods stuck with this tat.
