I think it's because Ireland has temporary "holding centres" where the refugees can live temporarily whilst their paperwork is being completed before moving to their sponsored accommodation.

    UK has no such arrangement.

UK still covering themselves in glory on the refugee front. People who have been accepted into Ireland can't make the final step to stay with family in the UK unable to provide paperwork required by our system.

Bit confused.......why do refugees going to Ireland need to go to the UK first?

Before someone leaps on me for this question, I’m not for one second saying the UK approach is acceptable at all. Just wondering why a refugee family can’t be directly transported to their final destination ASAP so they can begin to receive the care and attention they often need and definitely deserve, and begin to rebuild their lives.
there is a Pritti good explanation for this.

Eh? That doesn’t answer the question at all.
because they can't get into the UK despite waiting for f'ing weeks? And they cant sit around in Arras forever?

It is fitting that the this is staying in the Putin thread, because, remarkably, this is really all about him.

Yep, I'm glad about that distinction.

The other thing I hate about about war, apart from the obvious, is all the destruction of buildings and infrastructure. It's such a mindless waste of resources.

Everybody is concerned about a nuclear war...The solution to fossil resource pressure, is to go nuclear...

Other way around. They have family in the UK but can't get the visa processed and have been placed temporarily with a family in Ireland. They are now thinking of giving up on the UK and staying in Ireland so it could be argued it is a Government policy that is working.

Tbh, its exactly what the tories and their support want - token lip service to a policy desgned to help people but at the same time screwing them over.

I just can't imagine a scenario though, wear a pilot would be thinking "I still haven't found what I'm looking for". Now a good sleep, that's another matter.

It's probably just as well BR's cräppy drafts saving system doesn't also include references to pôrn sites also recently visited.

Obviously not suggesting that you've ever visited one of those sites...

tbh, if he has a co-pilot he could say that he can find the target with or without you

Also, I don't understand how painting a face on the the front of said aircraft helps in terms of the spying?

I wonder if UAP's are spying on the Human collective at the moment?

Never a truer word. No matter what route you take the ultimate destination is the same. Make it a pretty route.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Even after the carnage in Mariupol, the Ukrainians aren't giving up there. Astonishing. You can see why Zelensky wants the West to show a resolve to match.

tbh, i'm straight down the middle of the road with them.

ok, Bono is a moujee, but their music is neither here nor there: i won't put it on the hi-fi but I won't turn it off out of principle like that douche bsg Sheeran.

It just sorta plays, starts middle end, thats it.

can we drop him on the Russins please? From, say, 3,000 feet so he has enough time to contemplate the bad he has done in this world.
