I kind of thought the same, but what else - apart from chemical & nuclear - has Russia got up its sleeve?0 -
Russia might attack Ukraine in response?shirley_basso said:I'd be wary of poking the hornets nest

tbh, i've been surprised at how rubbish their personal kit is - never seen such a mis match of woolly hats, dozzers, daysacks - its like a bunch of stag do paintballers..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

If that ^ is true, then that's an example of Ukrainians being offensive, rather than defensive.briantrumpet said:There's an interesting development... I'd assumed this was another Russian strike against Ukrainian fuel supply...

no weapons or CEMO/CEFO though so either pre deployment or they have literally no kit.thegreatdivide said:

It's remarkable that Russia has no defence against attack helicopters going 35km into its territory. Maybe this will make them divert some forces away from their attack.

What we don't need is a long and protracted conflict because of the loss of life and destruction.
What we do need is a long protracted conflict because it will bleed Putin dry and leave China with a broken ally.
At what point does the finger start being pointed at Putin from within?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

fly in, pop up, fly out. hug the ground all the way, do what you need to do. SOP.
And if its a particularly cheeky mission no one will be expecting it, so fortune favours the brave. Who dares, etc.
4/5 Apaches will do the job very nicely.

Pretty exceptional from the pilot if he landed that without any of the crew dying?thegreatdivide said:0 -
Be a shame if none of them died but all had massively crippling and embarrassing injuries tbh..

nah, they'refucked. no tail rotor means ploughing into the ground nose first in a tiny aluminium shell with a big fuel tank inside it.Dorset_Boy said:

I guess they knew what they were doing: clearing Russian mines the Ukrainian way (hands in pockets)...

yeah its fine, tbh. just don't stand (or drive dependant on what they are) and you can kick them all day.briantrumpet said:I guess they knew what they were doing: clearing Russian mines the Ukrainian way (hands in pockets)...
Dependant on whst they are, you could dance on them and all would be cool.
tbh, if they've been left like that - ie wide open, no IDF on them, they're most likely not primed and just dumped there.
bit of a waste, really..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.
