Sagan can wear what he likes and do what he likes 'cos he's just an awesome bike rider; who cares?. In years to come, we'll be looking back at the Sagan era with tears in our eyes and 500 page threads devoted to him.

Your blind devotion is very sweet, but easily quashed with one single little video: namely, the homage to Grease video with the missus that was so awful on every level that I can only conclude was result of some sort of lost bet/forfeit. That, and when he inevitably has a dreadful one-handed wheelie accident, will be the only causes of "tears in our eyes"...

The rainbow jersey layout is terrible. The bands are too small, so he looks almost like any other rider from helicopter shots and the bands are interrupted. No "hat" for you!

Im fine with the size of the stripes, just not happy it's not a complete band around the jersey. Maybe the UCi should introduce a rule about that.

Big Sagan fan so i'll let him get away with a lot. Dont like the glasses he has but he certainly has the talent to back up the outragousness

Sagan is just a walking Eastern European clothing stereotype. He's really isn't a style icon.

Noob question, but how do they get the bikes to stand up on their own for these pictures?

Do they shove them along and take a picture while it's moving, or just airbrush out a stand?

I asked the BikeRadar guys about this a year or so ago. One of a choice of
    1. Airbrush out stand
    2. Fishing line
    3. Assistant holds bike steady, lets go, steps out of frame, photographer takes shot, assistant grabs bike again before a couple of grands worth of gleaming bike hits the ground

Also can have someone holding and that's 'shopped out. Probably easier than cloning around the actual bike frame e.tc.

  • The helmets Astana and Movistar are wearing this year are embarrassing. So bad. The Specialised Prevail is also terrible. They all look like a Muddy Fox helmet.

Probably needed a few more caps and exclamation points for real authenticity.

"I have the best helmets, they're just, you know beautiful, such good helmets, the best american ones*. Ivanka, you know, she's such a talented designer, amazing helmets. And I've appointed them all to my cabinet."

*helmet sticker states 'Made in China'.

    1. I can't afford to buy every new bit of stuff that comes out.
    2. You can fettle old stuff; new stuff tends to remove that joyous opportunity.
    3. If I can see that an item will do something significantly better than what I currently have, then it might go on my next birthday list.

Heard Frieb on the podcast saying Martin was very keen to get on a Canyon bike, which was a big factor in him moving to Katusha.
  • Patrick Seabase is now riding BMC bikes. Looking forward to seeing if they try for the fixed gear road market.

    Did they elaborate?

Is it because Canyon wanted a name German on their bikes/Martin wanted the dosh from being their face or because the TT bike is quick?

No no, Tony wanted to ride the bike because it was quick/suites his old position.

Friebe noted the increase across the board in TT times with Katusha & Movistar when they started riding them.

Cool. Always liked TM, nice to see him not chasing the money (although well compensated I'm sure).
