Hansen still up there. Impressive considering that shambles in the elimination race.

Silver it is. Great ride from Viviani considering he was put on the floor.

Sensible at the end by Cav, deserved gold by Viviani and a great ride by Hansen. He must be rueing that elimination race.

    Viviani totally earned that Gold.

Really glad Cav managed to get Silver, Hansen just popped in the end there.

They're saying richly deserved silver, nope, he was a liability. Viviani is the hero there.

Cav should have been DQ-ed, he paid no price at all for that terrible bit of riding.

Viviani almost did the exact same thing to Boudet.

Anyhow, Viviani did manage to show Cancellara how to do it with the flag.

Cav earned his silver, no question.

Commanding from Viviani, totally deserved win. Would like Cav to have won it but no complaints.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

If it wasn't Cav or someone had done it to Cav then people would be saying whoever did it should be penalised.

There's a lot to be said for being patriotic.

The American's have the right idea, they just need to drop the guns.

Proper surprised that no action taken after the crash. Great composure from Viviani.

What did Cav say just before the start of the interview?

It is not un-patriotic to think someone should be penalised for that, it's fair if anything.

Anyway, no gold for Cav which is great and the right man won for sure.

It was a racing incident/accident, it wasn't ideal, but it wasn't done maliciously/aggressively.

Viviani almost took out the French guy in the same way. Don't see you asking for a DQ for him. If you don't like Cav fair enough but try not to let it affect your judgement.

Best man won, great to see his reaction when the realisation dawned. Happy Cav got his medal.

It's track racing, it goes with the territory. Ultimately the person it most affected was probably him as it allowed Hansen to recover and took away chances to attack while the race was neutralised. The crash was certainly his fault but it's not like it was deliberate.

    The Devil's up.

    Indeed. Moving swiftly on...

Top 3 for Trotty, if not winning this I'd guess.

Viviani is a deserved winner but he very nearly took Boudat out with a move that was at least as bad as Cav's but thankfully Boudat managed to dodge the bullet.

Cav seems to shoulder check twice then drops into the Korean

    https://twitter.com/claudiascore/status ... 20/video/1

Viviani and the French chap looks more accidental. Viviani checking over the opposite shoulder when he crossed lines.
I think Cav is lucky. Would be a silly move if intentional as he puts himself at risk but still stupid.

If viviani had not been able to carry on, Cav would have won that, it would have been wrong.

Aaaanyway, Cav takes up his natural 2nd place, no gold for him, great result in that way.

Right, back to the proper racing, Trott can be great value in the elimination race, fingers crossed for her.
