Time check - Kruijswijk currently 1'30" down on Chaves/Nibali.

Shortly to be joined by Valverde group though and they're chasing hard.

Brian Smith says Kruiswijk is behind Valverde group, which is 35s behind Nibbles

twitter reports (god knows where they re coming from) saying Zakarin can recognise DS so sounds like he's all good. No idea how he went off there...

Time gaps seem to have changed a hell of a lot suddenly, Valverde about to catch Nibs/Chaves?? And only 40s to Kruijswijk??

More Giro controversy about a crash or bad weather being used to decide the race...

Jumbo will be trying to invoke the bad weather protocol.

Kruijswijk is looking alright - putting in some big pulls.

If the time gaps are to be believed (dubious) then he's only lost about 1'30" at the moment.

the gap has been anywhere from 30s to 2 minutes, I've no idea what it actually is.
