Fairly sure he was on the attack in the most recent Tour.

He won the ruta del sol attacking.

He attacked this giro on the Alpi di Poti.

Fairly sure he won his first Tour MTF on a solo attack after Armatrong bridged.

Fairly sure his 2012 Tour stage win was from an early attack too.

    List goes on.

Now Wiggins or Indurain. THEY don't attack.

If he wasn't so fast in a sprint then his tactics would be completely different. But he is.

You can't knock him for that, it's intelligent racing. He's not called Bala for nothing.

    .

He was cockier as a young lad riding on super petrol! It would be interesting to see what the other riders think of him... nice guy? Twat?

How many times did Indurain come second in a tour stage? You really think he was the one wheelsucking and not the guy who came off his wheel in the final 100m (Bruyneel, Bugno, Chiappucci, Dufaux etc etc)? Wiggins couldn't attack usually, lacked the kick, although there were times when he managed it (him and Froome in the Vuelta, British RR win, that epic solo fail in the tour).

Point is if you put together all of Valverde's wins from an attack you'd say he had a decent palmares.

Just he's won a shitload more doing it in a more tactical way. And more fool everyone else for letting him.

You don't see many other riders who so regularly makes any selection who can turn in a fast sprint.

You lot just want the equivalent of the Triathlete on the club run.

According to Slongo, Nibali has put all his eggs in the Olympic basket, with the Giro as a wild card... I don't understand how you can focus a season on a one day race, where anything can happen

Ulissi & Scarponi tearing it on.

Eurosport calmly carry on with an interview, as Chaves blows up everybody but Valverde and Kruisjwijk.

Something about the alps that makes you feel you're at home with a GT.... (as a viewer anyway).
