    Evenin secret boozers,

Been a carpenter today, you know, like your mrs, you know, playing with wood! Boxed in a water manifold that was too much in the public eye!
Also cleaned the pool and prepped some floor for tiling!

    Evening blue wafflers,

Did a stack of 'stuff' today and now I'm knackered so an early night beckons, more diy tomorrow morning then foods and boozes with the locals tomorrow afternoon.

Knackered after riding to and from work. Also got a bit moist on the way home so had to warm myself up with a spot of grape juice :)

I think today’s internet was won by the guy in the road section that retired yesterday, but on the downside he must be nearly as old as bg.
Look on the bright side, at least you’re not an accountant.
Today will be like yesterday and tomorrow for me. Just change of eateries.

Strangely the roadie you mention that retired is a relation! He's well older than me! Though doesn't look it!

The last lot must have made a bit of a mess if youre having to paint the place bg.

Busy weekend doing jobs and getting things sorted out for the holiday - still 2 weeks away but not got much time in between to buy stuff.

Dirty protest at having to leave because they were having such an awesome time!

    Morning Jimmy Saviles victims,

Awaiting the arrival of the new gite guests, hopefully a bit of eye candy as most have only really been good enough for someone V68's age and standards!

Done a bit of pool cleaning so that counts as hard graft, so I'll be sitting on my crack the rest of the day supping tea, beer and wine. In that order!

    Toodles

Ps I'm thinking i may go out for a ride on an actual bike next week.

Trying to build shelving in the shed from some recycled framing timber which is a PITA. Stuff has more bends, bows and kinks than a politician's relationship with the honest truth.

Finish it tomorrow, or burn it all. One or the other.

Working from home then jumping in the car early evening and headed North for the next round of clearing and bringing stuff home. Might get some decent driving in but will be glad when its over.

Should have known it would go like this. There's some steel pieces already welded in place which look ideal for the purpose, until you measure up and find they are not lined up properly nor quite level. CBA to cut them out and start again.

Screws, impact drivers, nail gun, drop saw, sabre saw... all come in handy for jobs like these. :D

Busy day up North. Mowing, strimming, head out and see a mate, meet the buyer of my folks house - really.nice family and not total indreds despite coming from Redcar :)

Now cooking myself some dinner and making inroads into the plonk stash. Must recharge the batteries before tomorrow's jobs!

Good afternoon, swallowers of the pork sword.

Pity me, for I am crippled.
I have had arthroscopies on both knees to remove damaged cartilage*. Last Friday evening my right knee started hurting and by Saturday morning I couldn’t bend it. It feels like my knee cap is being pushed out from behind with a hot poker. Have been hobbling around ever since and working from home as I can’t drive. I suspect a piece of cartilage has come loose and lodged in the joint.
Off to see an orthopaedic surgeon this afternoon (BUPA through work).

    *I blame Biopace chain rings.

Having standards is overrated, just limits opportunities. But surely you knew that.

    Afternoon lifters of shirts,
Grumpy here as I'm back at work. Pedalling was hard work after 3 weeks of little movement other than eating and drinking. Pub later :D

Surely someone of your advanced years remembers Biopace? Shimano's attempt at making ovalised chainrings that did bugger all except shag the rider's knees.

Anyway that's what I blame for my goosed knee. Oh, and getting hit by a bus and breaking my knee cap when I were a lad and dislocating my knee the first time I went skiing.
