The footy was great cos we won it, and Prince Harry proved that being a ginger isn't a total handicap when it comes to pulling a cracker as long as you're posh and loaded.

Seem to have got Northern manflu (which is much worse than the shandy drinking Southern variety) so am doing my best to be lazy for now. It's easy while Strifey is out of the house.

    Good afternoon, germ bags.

Had a cracking, if tough in places, ride this morning doing the Wild Boar Chase in the FoD. 23 miles but felt longer with the heat and a slightly jippy tummy. Thank goodness for the stop at Cannop and decent toilets!

Now it's time to shift furniture from one room to another so new flooring can be laid tomorrow. My life is full of fun!

Stevo - re. the aux setting: it may be time to RTFM. Not particularly manly, I know, but sometimes a necessary evil.

    Evening plague ridden,
Had the sister in law and her husband visit which was pretty dull. Took them to the pub the lad is working in as they hadn’t seen him since his travels. Properly embarrassed him when his aunt squealed upon seeing him and gave him a hug over the bar.
Not done much else unfortunately as they were here all through the middle of the day. EPO was stressing about tidying before they arrived, now gentle pottering is in order.

Fair point JBA, although I'm due to sell it later this year so I think I'll just read the manual of the new one when I get it. Puts off the day at least :)

One of the cars I'm looking at only has a CD player as an option so I'd better get one soon before they're abolished.

    Evening rimjobs,

Screeded the reno floor this morning in anticipation of fitting a load of underfloor heating gubbins over the next few days then had dinner round a chums where i had wine.
Now off out to sit and watch the annual village firework display!

    Evening analreceivers,

Don't ever bother doing underflor heating as a diy project, pay someone else to take on the stress!

More banging of ones head against a ropey stone wall tomorrow.

Sounds tricky, particularly as we Crudders have trouble counting to potato.

Dished out the pay rises and bonuses to the minions then got given mine, so am a happy minion myself now :) Especially as I haven't told Strifey.

Play it close to your chest, Stevo and buy a new bike that is the same colour as one you already have. She'll never know.

    Good morning, meat packers.

We're having new flooring laid in the house today so I am working from home* to keep an eye on things and make sure the floor-laying bloke doesn't ransack the house and/or steal SWMBO's knickers.

I may also take the opportunity to wash and polish my MX5 as it is going up for sale to fund the purchase of a car we can afford to insure for The Boy.

There may also be some lawn mower action this afternoon if I can be bothered.

Nothing level in that blimmin house!

    Evening born again fistians,

Flooring progresses, pipe work all installed and pressure tested, screed over the top tomorrow the the small matter of the tiling! Thinking about doing it myself as it is only a few small tiles!

    Need my bed.

You need some French minions bg. Then you can remind them we used to own France as they slave away for you.

There might be a few going spare soon. We just announced big job cuts in our French outfit. In true French tradition, they've all ****ed off on strike. It's their fault being French I reckon.

Anyhow, I'm off home to slurp some wine. I think it's French.

One of the gites we stayed in used workaway.com and since then we’ve used them for au pairs, but builders, etc on there - you provide room and food, they work so many hours

Worked from home today which minimised the Work to pub time - I wish, instead I used petrol garden tools :(

You could make the gardening more interesting by drinking while you're using the petrol powered garden tools. It's never done bg any harm.

Have tried to use them but got rejected as my requirements contravened certain laws or some Geneva convention blah!

    Evening sausage jockeys,

Final floor screed over the underfloor heating gubbins this morning, ran out of material so need to source a flexible floor screed, local diy place said non! So need to expand my horizons. Once that part is finished i need to tile it! Lots of satisfaction in doing it yourself but not as good as getting some other poor sap to do it for you!

Had the Mrs out strimming yesterday, the throttle is now apparently an on/off switch, got through a tank of petrol (660ml of 2 stroke) in about twenty minutes!

    Evening Crudders,

I seem to have reached a magical milestone that makes me even more of a saddo than I was before

Onwards to 50k :) That said, it's probably the most exciting thing I've done today apart from creating millions of tax losses...

That's another milestone Stevo reached well before me.
Today is a good day, just had some particularly good lemon drizzle cake, later is fry up and later still is pub for a leaving do and then we're into the long weekend. No DIY based shizzle for me this one either, might just tinker in the garage if I get a bit of spare time.
Bit worried about TLW, might have to get his user name changed again. Any suggestions?

    TCW (The Ciderless Wonder)? :)

Good day so far today. Nice morning so had a good pedal in. Quiet in the office so bailing out early. Got bonus yesterday and Strifey wasn't interested so it's all mine. Bought tickets to see the Macc Lads. And Stropeteen has no more GCSE's 'till 4th June so less stress for a bit. Cider is in the fridge for this evening. Rock on Tommy 8)

    Evening, frotage lovers.

It's been a long but productive day for yours truly.
Got the camper van MoT'ed this morning. It's over 40 years old so no longer legally requires testing but for the sake of £45 I'd rather know if anything needed attention to keep it safe and roadworthy. Then went to the Post Office and put in the application for vehicle tax exemption.
This afternoon's planned scooter ride was aborted due to it pissing down so I opted to do a bit of tidying up, fill the car with crap and do a tip run.
Brakes were then swapped between 2 of the mountain bikes, so I now have XT on the hardtail for added gnarcoreness.

The Boy finished his A/S exams today so I have dropped him in to town where he is going to meet up with a few mates and see how many pubs they can get served in. Half of them are 17 and the other half now 18 so it's a bit hit and miss.

SWMBO is working late this evening so I am now waiting for a call from her to tell me she is on the way home, to put a pizza in the oven and pour a couple of G&T's...

    Evening cahnts,

Quiet un today, collected some glarse for windows, visited some chums for snacks and booze and got home for some R and R, this evening the latest gite guests wanted drinks and chat which they got. Seems there's a lot more brits trying to buy in France before all this brexit blah kicks off!
