Hhmm, Metoffice promising a dry day tomorrow. Very tempted to wheel the MTB out of the garage and tackle Drum in the morning, with the mad return 800m D/H into Llanfairfechan.

'lo, gardeners of the uphill variety.

This morning it rained. It rained lots.
This afternoon it stopped raining so I tootled up to Cwmcarn to watch mad people throw themselves down the DH course in Round 1 of the British DH Series. It's younglings and amateurs today and very impressive. Tomorrow is the pro and elite riders.

What track are they using for the race? Heard they built a new steep job not that long ago (not been for a few years now).

Anyhoo, mixed bag of a day. Dog agility class was quite funny as he didn't want to do any of it until he saw the rest of them having fun. Probably should have given it a go myself. Now doing my physio shizzle and getting ready for a night in with some decent grog and plenty of food.

    Evening muck spreaders,
Busy day and actually quite productive. Got loads of brownie points cutting back shrubs and an olive tree, then got even more for fixing a dodgy light switch and broken window latch. Now unwinding with a beer.

Y Mynydd. There has been a lot of work done on it lately so there are now bigger jumps and a few more drops.

The newer DH track is called Pedalhounds and comes down the steeper side of the valley.

I was going to say, the old one was a bit easy for the pros. I thought they'd cut a new track that went off to the right just after the van drop off to get to the start point of the Y Mynydd?

Anyhow, I heard they stopped uplifting on the pedalhounds side because it was a bit crap.

I could have done with a lie in this morning. Rather dank and moist around these parts today, customer avoidance and tea drinking have been my main activities so far. much the same as most Mondays in that respect. Might try to cause some mischief to help the day go by. There's drinking to be thought about as well.

    Watcha, sad sacks.

First day of holiday and it's pi$$ing down! Managed to get a ride in with SWMBO before the rain this morning though, so not too bad a day.

British DH at Cwmcarn was very impressive yesterday. The elite riders are something else. How they manage to go so fast and stay the right way up is amazing.

It's the annual bun fight in Chateau JBA that is trying to book a summer holiday. Anyone got any recommendations for Florida and the theme parks?

We went to Orlando last summer. Stayed in Fairfield Inns (part of Marriott) just off the I4 Interstate South West of Orlando. Pretty handy for the big theme parks like Universal, Sea World etc. Kennedy Space Centre also well worth a trip over on the East Coast.

Yes, don't do it. It's hot as hell but more humid.

That was my response, V68, but apparently I have to do it "for the children". Bah.

Thanks, Stevo. I'll check it out.

I kind of assumed you knew that it'd be like taking a holiday in your own oven :) Tricky thing might be flights if you're going this summer - probably won't be cheap. We we visiting in laws in Atlanta for part of the hols so just had to do an internal flight.

Summer is the worst time of year to go, it's their rainy season and even more humid than normal. We went when I was about17, last big family holiday for me. It was around 98 or 99% humidity and hot as hell. You couldn't move without sweating, thankfully the day we went to Orlando it rained all day. most other days it rained for a little while at 3pm but was sunny the rest of the time. Daytona Beach and the race circuit are good fun. The Keys were good and I liked the West coast more than the Atlantic as I recall, but that was a lifetime ago.

    Good afternoon, worms.

I have managed to persuade the current Mrs. JBA that Florida in August is a bad idea. Result!
As well as the humidity and temperature at that time of year the costs are ridiculous. We could have 2 blinking good ski holidays and a couple of weekends away for the same price.

This afternoon is going to consist of fettling the full sus and drinking coffee.

Good escape. We only went because we were in Atlanta and didn't want to spend the whole time with the in-laws.

Ho hum day torturing numbers until they told us what we wanted to hear. Now headed home to veg out and maybe listen to some footy.

Good result JBA, definitely think that’s for the best. Go at another time of year if you have to go.
Manic afternoon at work trying to get all my pigs lined up and ready to fly before two days out. Needless to say my plans have been svuppered by others not doing what they were meant to. Fookin’ incompetent fucknuggets.

Finished torturing numbers today and just finished plotting to wipe out next doors chav infestation with the help of some lawyers  It's the long slog North tomorrow after work.

    Evening, trouser snakes.

Great day today: a bike ride this morning, cracking steak lunch in The Big City followed by a bit of a mooch about the shops, a visit to one of my sisters who has recently moved house (wifi setting up was done there) and home for a bottle of vino collapso.
I am thoroughly enjoying my week off.
