He'll only quit if he knows he's going to be removed. Only so he can say it was his decision.

Just like the business council disbanding - his decision......because 90% of them had already quit.

He has too much of an ego to go unless there is concrete evidence.

I think it was Seth Meyer joked the other day that when the day comes expect a tweet that says, "I Quit! I never really wanted the job anyway."

Thing with these investigations, especially when it's someone like the US president, let alone Trump in an aggressively partisan environment, is the case needs to be absolutely water(gate)tight.

And that takes a lot of time and careful, careful work.
  • Well I suppose there's at least one thing Trump has been honest about, his working vacation.

Unfortunately for a president where everything he touches turns to sh1t maybe next time just stick to the vacation and give us a break from the daily stoopid although I might miss that gift of 'every day is Christmas Day' feeling where we're guaranteed some new level of crazy.

The Presidents arts council resigned en masse today and major and international charities are distancing themselves from him and cancelling events at his properties. He truly is a winner.

Sounds like Meuller is being very careful. Raids on people's homes, etc. It's further along than you'd think. It's like he took over an existing investigation so started from a long way along the investigation.

The problem with that article is it assumes all Democrats in the House would vote for impeachment or even to censure the president which is the other suggestion on the table.

Whilst party lines were drawn on issues like Obamacare, impeaching or censuring the president isn't a partisan issue and to see it as such could potentially divide the House irrepairably. Senators know that whilst they have to respond to the interest of the electorate they have to play the long game and weigh up the immediate interest with their reliance upon votes on future issues from across the aisle.

Take Dem Senator Brian Schatz who this week angrily said "He is not my president" on Twitter. When challenged by Wolf Blitzer on CNN if he would seek to censure, let alone to impeach, he equivocated his response and changed the focus to that of the need of the House to get things done.

A sensible response but it shows that even among those vehemently opposed to Trump there is no guarantee of their support for impeachment or censure.

After his interview the politically naive could even work that one out. Add in Trump's comments implying he's not safe... Bleeding obvious really.

They don't. Ford pardoned Nixon even though he hadn't yet been charged.

But then they might not be able to plead the 5th amendment to prevent self incrimination, so unless he pardons himself or President Pence pardons him, it might backfire.

Did anyone else notice how he out stared the sun yesterday?

And if he can do that to the sun then Kim Jung's puny missiles are well stuffed.

I reckon Trump has secret Godzilla eyes.

If he's an example of a reptilian elite then we've not really got anything to worry about. Seriously did anyone reckon we'd see someone who makes George W. Bush look good as a president? I never saw that one coming.
