That'll go down well with the Bible Belt.

    Quite.

I wonder what the God fearing people of Texas think about this one? Nothing to do with God? Or God testing them. Weird entity is God.
God must be punishing them to test their love for him.

Some call it devotion, the rest of the world calls it an abusive and controlling relationship.

    The Viz letter:
A woman whose daughter was hospitalised by a US tornado told ITV News that 'God would make her better'. Presumably, that's a different God from the one that almost killed her with a tornado.

Amazing how few have died in this vs Katrina.

    Two orders of magnitude fewer.

    Meanwhile in Asia...
Puts Texas, and Trump's comments, into perspective.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

From a PR perspective he's handled Texas pretty well even though he hasn't really said anything and used it mainly for that PR exercise. His wife must be taking the the p!ss out of him and / or George Bush with the baseball cap with FLOTUS on the front though surely?

Well glib, vapid statements are his mainstay, it's actions months and years down the line that are going to matter.

Wth no mention of or sympathy for the dead he's shown that the human cost is not a prioirity to him, it's that people like him that matters.

History has shown he has a short attention span so he'll want this all forgotten about in a couple of weeks and, despite having cut funding to many flooding protection agencies including $700m to FEMA, he'll just deny any responsibility when people are still living in shelters 12 months from now.

And there was me thinking that she had borrowed the old mans personalised hat and that 'Floater' was misspelt.

I personally liked the 6" Manolo's she wore to go to a hurricane disaster zone.

Suitably practical footwear. Bet she had chilly toes at the end of it though.

What did POTUS wear on his feet? Silence!

Aaah well! Another case of chauvinism. You talk of the little woman wearing inappropriate footwear but I bet he didn't wear shoes much better. I bet designer and not very good in flood zones neither.

But then how far into the flood zone did they go? To a dry airport for a press conference no doubt. So footwear isn't an issue.

PS just giving a leftie, PC POV for you. With luck a few Trump supporters will bite.

You must have been watching a different press conference to me, it was unbelievably embarrassing, I know he's raised the putting your foot in it bar to stratospheric heights, but it was in no way handled well!

Fake news about what a woman in the public eye was wearing. There wasn't any fake news about Trumps footwear.

I reserve the right to be outraged by that!

Well I heard that he was originally wearing 4" Jimmy Choos but changed into a pair of DMs before they got off the plane. Of course, that might just have been more fake news.

I heard he had boas invented because he couldn't do laces on his cycling shoes. That's why specialized is big on them.

Watching the news reports I was wondering how badly the people being interviewed want the TV crews to get lost so they could get on with what they are doing. Then this would be multiplied when you factor in the number of people needed to deal with Trumpf turning up to do a piece to camera. The best thing he could do is to keep out of the way, let people do their jobs.
