Colbert on Scaramucci's replacement - "The administration wanted to replace him with somebody who will last longer, so today they announced the new White House communications director, Emanuel Fruit Fly."

You'd only have to do that if there was chaos there but you're pretending there isn't.

Chuck the TV on for the press briefing now.

Don't bother watching the latest series of House of Cards. This is even better...... getting to the point of being a real life sitcom now.

It is actually embarrassing to watch unfold isn't it?

If this was made into a TV series people would be switching it off whilst moaning that it is stupid and completely unrealistic.

Surely only embarrassing for US metropolitan liberal elites? Half the country think he is doing a good job

I actually burst out laughing when I saw the headline of Scaramucci being sacked. The Trump administration has been farcical every day. I love it, the entertainment value can't be beaten.

As for half the US thinking he's doing a good job. I guess that's the half from the NRA that go on weekend turkey shoots, eat grits and drink moonshine. Yehaw! (Slaps thigh and does a jig).

Last poll that 'half' was a hell of a lot less than a real half. Like 25% or something. IQ somewhere between moron and pond slime.

You forgot the bit about backing Brexit.

There is a very good book called Hillbilly Elegy which helps explain the thinking of much of America.

I think before long anyone taking up a role for Trump is just going to take it as annual leave from their existing job!

Sean Spicer hasn't actually left yet, having resigned over the appointment of Scaramucci. Scaramucci didn't even get as far as being formally appointed before being sacked. He was due to start formally on 15th August.

    It's not chaos, no.

Jared Kushner said (in leaked comments, obviously) that it is ridiculous to accuse them of colluding with Russia during the campaign, because they were so disorganised "we couldn't even collude with our local offices".

Whatever job you take will only last a couple of weeks (at the most).

Lowest approval rating of any president ever and in the quickest time.

Not forgetting that he didn't actually have the most votes....... it's like the GOP are just going for comedy points having had Dubya and the Mango Mussolini as their last two incumbents.

Voters are finding out what happens when you vote for PLUs, rather than the most capable for the job.

You wouldn't do it for a role you're filling in your company, so why do it for a presidency?

It's what you get when you think that an amoral proven liar is preferable to any establishment candidate.

There are STILL articles being written today asking if Trump is now going to "pivot to presidential". It's like expecting a dog to suddenly start miaowing because barking all day doesn't achieve anything.

The man is utterly delusional -his propensity to tell outright lies is breath taking. He must have some sort of mental issue.

I caught some of fox news on a Twitter feed last night. Trumpy is right to bang on about fake news. This was a load of rubbish. Saying how fantastic his first six months has been for sorting out the Obama messes....

They've been handing out retrospective medals prior to the opening of world athletics championships. All due to Russia''s disqualification from last world champs.
They even played the USA national anthem.
What's the betting that Trump Tweets "Congratulations to Team USA". ?

It's more likely that he'd claim credit for having negotiated it, and blame Hillary for colluding with the Russians in the first place and supplying the drugs.

No, he won't tweet anything to do with it because it won't even make US tv news, it barely did here really, it's not even mentioned on the BBC website under Athletics http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics

(Of course, you were actually "joking" :) )

Besides, he won't want to comment on something that unquestionably concluded that illegal russian medalling unfairly affected the results.

Just when you think he can't go any lower :(
“What I just saw gave me the wrong kind of chills,” a visibly stunned Chuck Todd said on MSNBC. “Honestly, I’m a bit shaken by what I just heard.”

Unable to disguise her disgust, the Fox News host Kat Timpf said: “I’m still in the phase where I’m wondering if it was actually real life. I have too much eye makeup on to start crying right now.”

And on CNN, as the network cut away from President Trump’s extraordinary 23-minute news conference at Trump Tower, the anchor Jake Tapper could not contain his astonishment.

“Wow,” he said. “That was something else.”

it was a truly disgusting performance
