Someone told him Obama would have used the glasses. Or that it was a health and safety regulation.

Tbf knocking him for looking at the eclipse is a bit far fetched.

I did it when we had one here.

    Pretty normal
  • I think my daughter summed it up about right when he actually won the election....we love America..been loads..I would live there tomorrow, but she said, and I think she is right..you have to worry about their politics, when the VERY best a nation of over 165 million can offer up as candidates was CLINTON and TRUMP....and then TRUMP actually beat her!!!!!
My daughter says..."They got what they deserved" And I tend to agree with her!
I have no interest in politics at all, but Trump makes it at least interesting from a sort of car crash news kind of way!!!

So are we saying the VERY best the UK can do is Theresa May.

It's not that much better is it?! OK, it's a fair bit better, but I think putting politicians on a pedestal as a shining example of what a country has to offer isn't exactly fair.

I'm pretty sure she wasn't the party leader last time I voted. So who actually voted her in?

Who's most likely to be still in power in 2020?

He's upset now because CNN blacked out his speech last night. He made that comment, live, in his speech. Which was being broadcast live by CNN.

"If you want to discover the source of the division in our country, look no further than the fake news and the crooked media, which would rather get clicks than tell the truth."

Then he lies about the NYT in the next sentence.

It really is as if he thinks that people outside the room can't hear him.

I'm starting to think the media should cover him as little as possible. And refer to him as a millionaire (instead of billion) when they do.

Would wind him up something rotten.

He can bullsh*t all he wants at his own rally's, and every word will be eaten up with a spoon.

"Now the obstructionist Democrats would like us not to do it, but believe me if we have to close down our government, we are building that wall," Mr Trump said, adding that "the American people voted for immigration control".

    Close down the Government?
He really has lost the plot. No doubt he is still expecting Mexico to pay for it as well.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

If Mexico were paying, there'd be no need to close down anything. So it suggests that they are not. Inconsistency within adjacent sentences is Trump's strong suit.

Weren't the phone calls he made to Aus and Mexico released (or leaked) a few weeks back.

He pretty much begged the mexican pres not to mention that they wouldn't be paying for the wall.

I read an article somewhere about closing down the government being very biased towards shutting things that ring the bells of liberals more than conservatives. I reckon if there was a risk of a genuine shutdown, meaning the FBI, TSA, border control, air traffic control stopped working as well as national parks and passport offices, then it would focus minds a lot more.

Yup - exactly. He said something along the lines of it would be bad for voting base (and people would take the pisss) if the Mexicans kept on telling hi. To jog on.

He also said that they would find some way that both of them would pay to which the Mexican hombre starting laughing in Trump's fat stupid idiotic ugly face.

Reading between the lines I don't think that Mexico will paying for it.

"But you cannot say anymore that the United States is going to pay for the wall. I am just going to say that we are working it out. Believe it or not, this is the least important thing that we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important talk about. But in terms of dollars – or pesos – it is the least important thing. I know how to build very inexpensively, so it will be much lower than these numbers I am being presented with, and it will be a better wall and it will look nice."

Not staying in a trump hotel if he "knows how to build cheaply". You just don't know what corners could have been cut.

Mexico could theoretically pay through tariffs on incoming trade. Rumpus Trump's cohorts would need to be careful with that can of worms though.

But, in Trumps words, it would be a nice looking wall, so that's ok then. rendered or plain brick? Granite look?

Wonder if it would be a la Berlin Wall - spotless on one side with machine gun checkpoints, covered in graffiti and urine on the other......

He's said at various times that it is going to be attractive from the US side, have solar panels, and be see through so that US border patrols don't get hit on the head by sacks of drugs thrown over from the Mexican side.

    North facing solar panels? Hmmm!
