Mathematics was never a strong point of mine. Arithmetic with the 1, 2....9, 0 system I'm fine with. Having googled about the lack of zero in the Tamil system, eh nope brain frazzle.

Anyone have a rudimentary explanation of how the Tamil system works?
Like most places in the world Tamil Nadu just uses European numbers, but to answer your question, consider the following sentence

    I have x apple(s).

If x was zero you would say "no" , but more importantly, if you have two apples, you won't feel the need to list all the things you don't have e.g. oranges

So 103 in Tamil is one hundred and three. No need to mention the missing tens that are normally written.

    Very good.

Some discussion that the joint letter from all the former defence heads suggests there was more of a coup aspect than perhaps we're taking for granted.

True, but anyone who sent that lot in would probably struggle to spell coup, never mind plan one.

Trump sent them in. He even told them he'd march up there with them, but then failed to do so.

But the US system is far more partisan, the majority are like SteveO. So ask yourself would SteveO not vote Tory because Boris did that?

This is not a go, he is just the most public on here about his partisanship

Trump does have a long standing aversion to marching. Something to do with bone spurs I believe.

he has already answered this they are

numerals used in Sharia beliefs. V common practice in Sharia based legislation, wills, financing, etc. Really common in private wealth management and interjurisdictional estate planning over the last 20 years.

    they are not

numerals written in Arabic (Eastern Arabic numerals), as opposed to what we call Arabic numerals, which are really from India (via North Africa)? Don't think they are specifically related to Sharia beyond the use of Arabic script.
    no he hasn't.

We were also taught them in Temperer, which means they are a bit closer to Richard's house than he thought they may be but he wouldn't think that.

Yebbut. Roman has the 10 as in X so is decimal system. Is Tamil a 9 base? And as for not saying nothing about a zero nothing.... Perhaps is too many decades in a simplez decimal system but brain no likey, no lighty.

I suspect the police and security services will be well prepared for that, I imagine they wouldn't want a repeat of this week. Expect this sort of thing to fade away: a bit like this thread will, thankfully
