The only demographic that I note is the lack of intelligence. But in all probability the majority will be WASPS - or do you have a better insight?

Pretty sad (but entirely unsurprising) that such a nobody is trying to desperately get his name back in the headlines over this.

His crowd at the rallies really will cheer anything:
I hate it, I meet these people, they call it the elite.

We got more money, we got more brains, we got better houses and apartments, we got nicer boats, we’re smarter than they are and they say they’re the elite. You’re the elite, we’re the elite.

Going for the "we got nicer boats" vote.
They were just talking about this on NBC, the host said i met him once and he said to me "Joe you need a big plane, like mine, big enough to walk around on, I told him i don't have the money for a plane, but he really believes most people have inherited $200m of their parents"
And to think he sold himself as the working mans president as he sits around a table at Mar a Lago with his millionaire chums who are benefitting massively from his tax cuts, there's no fool like a redneck fool

You don't have to be a redneck to be a fool. Look at Brexit.

I see there are reports that NK has got straight back on enriching uranium as if nothing has happened. Art of the deal indeed.

General Motors warned Friday that if President Trump pushed ahead with another wave of tariffs, the move could backfire, leading to “less investment, fewer jobs and lower wages” for its employees.
The automaker said that the president’s threat to impose tariffs on imports of cars and car parts — along with an earlier spate of penalties — could drive vehicle prices up by thousands of dollars. The “hardest hit” cars, General Motors said in comments submitted to the Commerce Department, are likely to be the ones bought by consumers who can least afford an increase. Demand would suffer and production would slow, all of which “could lead to a smaller G.M.
And trump sold it as a way to save American jobs and sell more American products, Harley and now GM...way to go apprentice Dotard! :D

So you believe GM? Are they a car maker or economics consultancy?
Not having imports for goods used in the US will create jobs - that is a fact. Prices may well go up - but don't forget that the dollar value will reduce too the importation will reduce consequently. Ultimately productivity will rise and - and the export prices will reduce and the car makers will be all right.

Now that his tax reforms have allowed the repatriation of profits previously held overseas by the likes of GM then they can invest in that productivity to their advantage. It will be them that cause the job losses not the government.

    And certainly not the President.

American and Allied troops in Germany were garrisoned following a post war agreement basically to keep an eye on Germany and to prevent recurrence of arms build up preceeding a third war.

It (the preventive garrison) is not needed now and BAOR has reduced and will diminish to nothing. America are following UK lead on this.
Russia is a problem but it is not Americas problem - it is a European problem and I'm glad that we will not be part of that anachronism very much longer.

Yes should be more US jobs
Prices will go up as inputs and competition cost more
Productivity is driven by competition so more likely to fall

Initially it was an occupying force and then became a counter balance to the Soviet Union.

Bizarrely I agree and see no reason why the USA should pay vast amounts to defend Europe. Europe is a similar sized economy and population to the USA and has managed to bluff it’s way into getting a free ride.

For 40 years Europe was the collateral set aside in case the Cold War got really hot.

America has also treated Western Europe as a neo-colony, with the most concentrated economic powe reliant on their support and their military for their well being.

So I can see why there are some historical hang ups.

If a customer owes you money then you are nice to them until they pay.

    Well done!
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

You don’t think that maybe a global vehicle manufacturer would consult with economists as part of planning their business strategy and that, just maybe, those consultants understand the likely economics of the situation more than you? You should offer your services, it might help offset their rising costs!

To the man with a history degree, everything looks like colonialism

EDIT: posted from a sunny veranda in deepest Kenya, where they know a thing or two about colonialism - and might be a bit surprised to learn that Europe is an American colony ;-)

Defined in the link as follows: "Neocolonialism, neo-colonialism or neo-imperialism is the practice of using capitalism, globalization and cultural imperialism to influence a developing country in lieu of direct military control (imperialism) or indirect political control (hegemony)."

Which countries in Western Europe do you class as 'developing' ?
