"You know that thing you've got that made us take you seriously? Can you get rid of that please? We promise to treat you right as long as you get rid of it. And you can trust us, because when we make an agreement, we always stick with it."
Bolton - "Be more like Iran".
Kim looks at Iran. "Eh, no thanks".

And meanwhile, after the worst mass shooting in a US school in three months, Trump must be heaving a sigh of relief that Dimitrios Pagourtzis only had guns and no knives.

They don't have a problem. Deaths of school kids due to poor gun control isn't their problem. Let's face it the Trump clan and their ilk will have armed bodyguards to look after them. Plus private schools too. Not quite facing the same risks as many in those States with the least effective gun laws.

So I repeat large parts of America do not see a problem. The elites don't face the problem.

Donald can take some comfort in the fact his wife Melanie is now home from hospital.

In the early 19th century a man's "telescope“was often called a "Hardy" for obvious reasons. Hence the term "kiss my Hardy".

They pick up on that in the article. It's not a title Kim uses, so has come from Trump's imagination.

So the great meeting of minds is off for now. Trump says it's inappropriate, at this time, to have this long planned meeting.

When has that ever stopped him doing something?

The letter is very weird. "I thought we had something special, Kim. And now you've gone cold on me. Don't forget I can wipe you off the face of the planet. Laters, Don."

To be fair, it can be hard to know how to deal with the unstable megalomaniac leader of a country that is inward-looking, isolationist and convinced that the norms of international behaviour don't apply to it.
But I'm sure the north Koreans will get used to it eventually.

Take on players who can't play for more than 20 seconds without going for a lie down and a few puffs of oxygen?

When I see rugby I see a lot of men grabbing each other and rolling around in mud.

    Plenty of lying around.

Or is that about as unfair as your comment?

No: while I may have been being facetious, tendentious even, there was a serious point - Rugby is a game requiring some characteristics similar to American footie (strength, speed) and some totally unheard of in gridiron (stamina)

Bizarrely enough, they are two incomparable games - well, apart from the fact that they both involve running into each other.

American footballerists tend to be less twatty and obnoxious than rugbyists though, so they have that going for them.

I was quite hoping there would be a unanimous bending of the knee in spite of this. The cynic in me tells me that it won't happen. Pity.
