Biden shrugs and says it doesn’t change the facts.
Now really isn’t the time to be honest and decent. 👿

It is too late. There needed to be succession planning after the midterms.

There needed to be succession planning straight after he got elected TBF.

There may be an element of not wanting to be the one who looks disloyal - bit like with the Tories the one that puts the knife in often pays for it.

From a recent Trump speech...
"In 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces camped around Boston and New York. The Continental army suffered the bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.
Our army manned the airport, it ran the ramparts. It took over the airports and did everything it had to do."
It took over the airports? In 1776?

Not recent as it was 4th July 2019, but true.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

He's still got it
I would say it culminates in his admiration for German shepherds as sniffer dogs myself but each to their own.

Hmm. NYT makes Trump's outright racism sound more like a PhD pitch than what it is.

His imitation of the Chinese president was going to be interesting, he just managed to stop himself.
Every time it makes me despair that so many people will vote for this.

Someone buy him a care home, give him a lectern, a CGI audience, and let him ramble all day long like this.

He has obsessions and assumes that everyone else shares them. I think he's referring to these socially distanced campaign events that Biden had in 2020 because he didn't want his supporters to get sick.

Wow, that long ago. Thanks for the correction.
The really sad part about that speech is the complete lack of negative reaction from those listening. You'd think there would have been a collective "WTF!" but it seemed to just wash over them.
He blamed the teleprompter? His brain was not working.

Beautiful circles…..
I lost the plot though as I was thinking of circles in the middle of the ocean that Musk could land rockets on with such accuracy 🤔

I think that whole clip is what he optimistically calls a 'weave' but actually is just a freewheeling brain randomly accessing bits from his memory, even if they are faulty (e.g. Musk landing rockets on the moon).

I thought he wasour very own FZ at first with the Elon infatuation

Someone needs to point out that Trump is now in the position Biden was in when Trump started slating him.
They won't, but they should.

Some do, but then you get media like the NYT trying to make out he's a genetics researcher (not a racist) to keep the sales up, and the cultists don't care anyway, as long as he keeps the white supremacy narrative top of the bill.

Sorry, I meant someone who Trump would actually pay attention to. He needs in intervention, as did Biden.
The cult members will never be satisfied though.

The only people he might pay attention to are his immediate family, and they all seem to be fully in the cult too, not least as they profit from the association.

Needs Melania to kick him in the nuts.

There are plenty of men who would pay good money to have Melania kick them in the nuts!
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

having read the nyt article, can't see why anyone would interpret it that way

Do you think Trumpists will read the article? The headline is enough for them.

if they see some of the nyt's about trump, their maga heads will explode 😀

But they've had years of Maggie Harberman doing his PR there, and there's been enough 'sanewashing' to validate their worship of The Orange One's insane ramblings. NYT Pitchbot on Twitter is all too often less bothsidesist that the real NYT.

'Word salad' does a disservice to salads. That's a lot of weaving in 45 seconds. In fact, a basket case weave.

That's a lot of goes to find the right word.
In other news, he asked the question outright "Do you want the black president or the white president?" Pretty heady mix, full-on racism and dementia, though the 'charitable' explanation could be that the latter is letting the former come to the fore.

Surely the question should be “Do you want the black president or the orange president?”.
