Well it could be argued that his tax reforms are pretty bold and bring the US into the 21st century in tax terms.
It could be, but it would be a waste of your time on this thread, stick to brexit and giving us a labour government next election eh
I guess I couldn't expect a decent debate on the US tax reforms given the standard of knowledge on display in the paradise papers thread.

Unless you think you're up to it? :)

I'm happy to take your word on that for now. But then I find money a really uninteresting topic and try to know as little about it as I possibly can so this might not help!
It was more aimed at Bianchi who has quietly sidestepped my little challenge

Although I may have found the exception to your point above, unless you already have that view of me anyway :)

    Oh my word.

Is someone daring to diss Stacey? Do they really want to go down this road?

You might need to reread what I wrote if you think there is any dissing going on.

  • But at least the publicity led to her arrest under outstanding warrants. Agree she had freedom of speech but she was arrested for something other than that sticker.
  • Comment is free strand again. At least it shows you what posts are going to be ranting polemics that pick and choose topics to make their political point. We get it. Trump is bad. I agree but jeez some of CiF articles are trash data but worth reading.

Can I also say one more thing. This CiF strand in the Guardian website is a place to read completely one sided opinion pieces. Is there ever any real merit in only hearing one side of the debate? If you only listen to ppl with your views or more extreme forms of your views then you're taking a blinkered view of the world.

Can I humbly request that before linking to a CiF page you find an equally biased view the other way about the same topic and post both side by side. I reckon the opposing side you'll spot a mile off as being an obsessive's rant and write it off but not the rant from your side of the fence.

Let's quote accurate reporting and reasoned argument that uses wholly relevant facts and evidence not picking and choosing what works best for the opinion giver.

OH! Just spotted my mistake, accurate reporting and reasoned arguments. Not possible with modern media. Ignore my post cut irrelevance.

'Opinion' pieces are generally one-sided, by definition..

Heavily biased with complete disregard for anything that doesn't create such a heavily biased view. Is that any better?

I guess I'm trying to say it's a political rant and IMHO I don't believe any online presence should publish online rants of private individual through any connection with their more respectable parts.

The guardian is a respectable newspaper with quality reporting and even quality opinion pieces within the main part of their website. IMHO some of the CiF pieces were so over the top biased that it kind of reflects badly on the rest of the brand. I think they should separate the CiF from the rest of the site somehow. Just my opinion ymmv.

Apologies - you are right of course but I do have a job to do as well as posting crap on here and I posted it hurriedly as a discussion point before doing on to do something hopefully vaguely useful for the environment! AFAIK, the white supremacists do seem to have got away without any bother for their actions so the question is whether the protesters are under significant threat; maybe someone already has a link for that.....

Just think LaVar, you could have spent the next 5 to 10 years during Thanksgiving with your son in China, but no NBA contract to support you. But remember LaVar, shoplifting is NOT a little thing. It's a really big deal, especially in China. Ungrateful fool!"

Well, not really. An opinion article is never going to give you both sides of the story, as it obviously represents one person's opinion. And that person usually has an agenda. So long as it's clearly marked as an opinion piece, not masquerading as editorial, then you can either agree or disagree with it.

I could do but it would just be my interpretation of WoPo and NYT articles on his tax plan, but i'm sure you've read them already besides whatever is said will make not an ha'peth of difference and more importantly have a wed night club run to make :)

  • The passed house tax bill and the Senate tax bill to be voted on are currently significantly different.

I get the feeling that DJT knows less about either of them though, and just wants to cut some taxes.

HERE IS how President Trump responded Tuesday to questions about Roy Moore, the Alabama GOP nominee for U.S. Senate accused of sexually molesting, assaulting and harassing teenage girls when he was in his 30s:

President Trump: “I can tell you one thing for sure: We don’t need a liberal person in there, a Democrat . . .”

Q: “Is Roy Moore, a child molester, better than a Democrat? He’s an accused —”

President Trump: “Well, he denies it. . . . He denies it. And, by the way, he totally denies it. . . . Forty years is a long time. He’s run eight races, and this has never come up.”

It just aint surprising anymore is it, you just expect him to go lower and lower

Reminds of the scene in A Few Good Men where Demi Moore objects to the judge, is rebuked, so strongly objects. A line like that is written for laughs, not for a Head of State to say in all seriousness.
