Have to say, I am also smitten with that Tokyo Fixed jersey. So much that I bought one (different colour) and will be buying another (black arrows).
Understood Btr. Will be intrigued to see what you make of their kit. So far, my experience of these shorts, the foul weather gilet, and a jersey for my gf, have all left me very impressed, good solid vfm it seems to me, just wish they had more colourways.
The various all in one suits look excellent and have great reviews. If I ever get my exocet built up, I will be investing in one too!Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Some questions for you Bender:
Q1. Does the Red & White "Kuku" work as well as the ASSOS equivalent?
Q2. Parentini vs Red and White - which one would you buy if you had to buy just the one?
Q3. What do you make of this:
http://road.cc/content/buyers-guide/155 ... ce-verdict
Q4. On a completely different matter - what do you make of See Sense new "Crowdfunding" initiative?0 -
1. yes.
2. a tie for now, but I reckon the RW might edge it
3. social mobilisation, I don't take Road.cc vote stuff at all seriously!
4. ooo! I will have a look!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Slightly OT but given the amount of technical gear (esp wet weather) beyond following the instructions any advice/findings on products etc to keep technical properties working? Thinking specifically towards the Alpha/ Pro Team jackets etc.
(I tend to just follow the instructions and hope for the best rather than use tech wash products)0 -
I wash most things for 14 minutes with non bio on 30 degrees. Then let them air dry. Occasionally I reproof stuff that has DWR treatmentMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

14 minutes doesnt allow much time for a proper rinse to get all the washing liquid/powder out though, surely? Not even sure my machine has a 14 minute cycle... I think it has something called 'refresh' which is quite short but I havent used it ever as I thought it was just for sprucing up something that has been in the cupboard unworn for some time.0 -
One thing that I have always wondered - if you wash normal garments in reproofer, do they become a little water resistant? Or do they have to have something special for the reproofer to work with?0

I don't use much but it seems to work. I also only wash cycling gear with cycling gear so there's a load of space in the drum.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

+1 Ours has a 30c, 15 min program. Which is plenty for a handful of essentially clean but sweaty road gear. If I was still going out and getting mucky on a MTB I think it would need a longer wash.0

Got some 6omm carbon clinchers from Bax Carbon on the way. Should be interesting to tell my beginners guide to TT story. Only 100g heavier than my 35mm Quattro so will be fun to see how much faster they are and how much slower they are, if at all, on hills. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

This thread is now 34 pages so will take some reading so here's a quick question/scenario if Mr. Therobot doesn't mind.
This morning I went out on a ride, garmin average temp shows 12 degrees and it was a bit wet, not bucketing down, just a bit of light rain.
I rode in this:- https://www.evanscycles.com/endura-fs26 ... t-EV168776 and was a bit warm.
What I'm looking for is a summer weight long sleeved jersey for early morning rides which is wind and water repellant.
As I'm going to pitch it to the boss I'd say about £50 or so is the budget sop possibly something from the DHB range?Advocate of disc brakes.0 -
Long sleeve is tricky. We're into more jacket type territory with that. Particularly at summer weight.
So short sleeve plus warmers might be better. Or light gilet over the top plus warmers?
The Stolen Goat Orkan is the closest to being summer weight and water resistant, but not really windproof. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I boiled on the climb, was cold and damp on the long descent but was overheating on the flat return leg. I guess your idea of a short jersey, warmes and Gilet would have been ideal instead.
I've got all those anyway so will experiment.
Thanks though.Advocate of disc brakes.0 -
But... Water repellant short sleeved jersey reccomendations please?Advocate of disc brakes.0

The problem with SS is that they're all a bit Gabba weight, generally.
The Stolen Goat ones can be bought cheaply if you google around and are water repellent.

Nice though however I can see the "I could buy two pairs of shoes with that " argument.
And following that argument, the arrival of two pairs of shoes.Advocate of disc brakes.0 -

There's a new lightweight, short sleeved version of the Parentini Mossa coming out soon0 -
I got an imprevisto on ebay for £43 - look out for them, there are none at the moment but the seller kiky303kay seems to sell them regularly for under £50. I havent had the opportunity to test it in the wet yet, but it works as a jersey, just a fraction warmer than some.0
