Bibs? I have the Aeron and Aeron Race and I'd say the Aeron are better. Better fit and they're shorter, the race are a bit long.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Yes, sorry. Bib shorts.
Thanks for this. Will order a pair of Aeron Bib shorts.0 -
Will do the equipe v cento review soon but today's 30 miler in the Cento wasn't as good as Tuesday's 50. Why? I have no idea, some investigating needed. I was tired today and not feeling it but there's a definite rub at the back of the pad where it comes just off the saddle. I'm going to look very closely at the differences between the Equipe and Cento pad.
I still think that my Parentini Shark.2 are at least as comfy as both. And, of course, much cheaper! My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Having to send my Lusso Aqua Repel arm warmers back - they are REALLY short. They are more stretchy than the Castelli Nano arm warmers, which is good news because I cant wear those (they are too stiff around the elbow) but even the biggest size in the Lusso is still just a little too tight and they are at least three inches too short...! Pulling them up as far as humanly possible, they stop half way up my biceps and even then dont reach my wrists. If they were looser and I could pull them up then most of my forearms would be getting wet! Shame really as they had potential if sized right. Are the Parentini arm warmers made from similar windtex and are they any longer?0

Think the Rain Defence might be longer? Similar things. No idea on the length of the Parentini. I like mine mid bicep so they're spot on for me!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Tried one of the Assos Rally jerseys and really in two minds about it. Fit is fantastic and there are lots of bits I like, but that mesh is really bulky. It is scratchy as expected but what I didnt realise from yours or any of the other reviews is just how bulky/squishy it would be. Its like padding really. I can see why it would be good if wearing a backpack and I think that was the intention, to provide ventilation and stop the pack sitting too close to the body and making you sweat and to provide some extra cushioning comfort. I really cant decide how I feel about it though. The thickness of this padding probably means I wont wear it on the road, so I need to think how much I would use it off road and the jury is still out. Did get it for £120 though with a £10 voucher from Wiggle. The base layer is superb though and is improving its chances of being a keeper.0

They dont go up high enough to tuck under the jersey sleeves though, rendering the whole thing a bit pointless.0 -

My Medium size Parentini armwarmers are 47cm long. They don't produce a Windtex version. I have the K Dry ones, which are a soft roubaix material, that has their Hydro DCR treatment. This works very well, and if you wash them in soap flakes lasts a long time. Plus when the Hydro treatment does lose it's repellency, you can re-activate it in a washer dryer anyway. They also have a very good silicon top gripper, so stay put.0 -

Base layer is £50 worth and is brilliant. So it's a £70 jersey. Do try it off road, it's really good (be careful and you can return it).
Oh, and it's back up at silly money now. That should incentivise you!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I'm the exact opposite, I always find the length is ok but have a problem with the top of the warmers being too loose.
I should be a medium but ordered the Aqua repel in small because of my puny arms. They fit absolutely bang on and are plenty long enough.0 -

Thanks for that - will measure the Lusso ones tonight and if the DHB are longer may give them a try.0 -

Yeah - I bought it the day before it went back up. Figured it was at 49% discount and maybe at 50% they would take it out of the sale. Maybe it went back up because someone (i.e. me!) bought one though - I guess they have triggers set so that if things start selling the price goes back up. If I had held off maybe it would have kept going down but didnt want to risk it. I am half tempted to keep it, although the physio says I am not allowed to do mountain biking yet, since a broken collarbone and ligament damage a couple of months ago. My son is desparate for me to take him to a trail centre though.0 -
Using mine for "off road" rather than mtb. I'd probably have bought another had it dropped a bit furtherMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Measured the lusso and the are an inch shorter than this but they are also straight whereas the DHB are anatomically shaped which should be more comfy on elbow and also means they are actually longer than your straight rule shows. I reckon overall they are 2 inches or more longer than the lusso and the DHB in XL might be longer again.
I tried the Lusso on with the Perfetto and they could actually work with that purely because the sleeves are so long on the jersey.
Think I will try the DHB out anyway though as it looks better shaped.0 -
Much better ride in the Cento yesterday. Still not convinced they are better than the Equipe (at any given price).
Properly good ride in the Tokyo Fixed kit last week though. Pad in those is a Ghost 2.0 from Mstina who I'd not come across before. Bit of a revelation really. Quite firm to the touch. Suits my 'arris perfectly. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

hey bender, how did you find the sizing / fit between the assos Race Fit & Comfort Fit.
I wonder if whilst they size similarly, perhaps sizing down for shorts that were comfort fit might be an idea?
any thoughts?0 -
I found them indentical! Can't really tell any difference at all between them size wise.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Sorry, but for me, ALL the Tokyo Fixed stuff looks horrible. Pyjamas was a good description! I dont mind loud but that is just awful as well...
Anyway - a question: you say that you send the Tokyo stuff back, including the bibshorts. Why do they want these back? Its not like they can send them to someone else to test...? What happens to them when they get them back? Do they bin them, sell them on ebay as used or what?0 -
There's a market and a clientele for it. It's probably not us. But it's good to see different stuff. I rate the jersey highly so will get the "least offensive" one. Probably the green but perhaps the black. We will see. I've no idea why they want it back mind!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Just to prove I dont mind loud, I am loving the look of the new Ale stuff at Wiggle: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/mens/ale
The blue kit with the vertical stripe or even the orange camo kit, although I will probably be shot down for liking anything camo...0 -
It's really nice stuff.
Top of my loud list is:

That orange camo Ale stuff is a lot like the DHB Orange Camo stuff they did as a limited issue.0

An idea for your blog aka "i want to know the answer to this so i'll get bender to write a review" :P
Gabba Vs Fiandre Light
Fawesome Vs Fiandre vest or the S/S or L/S Gabba Vs Fiandre Light S/S or L/S Tops.
Having tried on something from both lines, the material seems very different - with the Gabba being more wetsuit/neoprene style and the Fiandre (Light Top / Vest) being closer to Gore Active Shell.
I really have no idea how either of these would compare performance wise in terms of "insultation", "breathability", "waterproofness", "wind blocking".
Perhaps they are a close equivalent, but the vast difference in material (Gabba - thick and soft) (Fiandre Light - thin and harder) gives the impression that these would perform quite differently.
Anyone here have experience of both?0 -
Also La Passione released some quite nice looking Camo Kit0
