Disappointed!, just tried the DHB2 code and it seems to have expired....
C0ck p1ss partridge!!!!
I didn't order last night also as thought I had some time to determine correct size better (chart says medium, advice says large) and looks like offer pulled.0 -
It's not awful chaps. Remember that they jacket is still 25% off. Before it was £88 if you were platinum. So that's a saving. Just add something you really need like inner tubes, get to £100. Save £15.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Are you on commission Bender?
It would be nice. Maybe I should approach Wiggle as a brand ambassador.......................
TBH, I've not always been whelmed. I remember the first DHB stuff as being awful (personally). You know, the old red tight stuff? Even as recent as last year I found that some of the range was still a bit old fashioned. But I think they've really nailed the aesthetics now and the functionality. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

wiggle customer services have told me that the info last night about the code running until Dec was a typo and new deals are in place. I've pointed I would have ordered some more kit last night if I'd have known. It's now with a supervisor to see if they'll honour the deal for me.
I went to buy a bike for my son only to find it had suddenly jumped in price. Contacted them via the live chat thingy and they said they'd honour the lower price. Placed my order online and sure enough they applied the discount. Felt F95 for £399. Happy days!0 -
Apologises to anyone who tried the use the code today based on my post yesterday and found it had expired. Bit disappointing BUT and I'm sure this won't help they have honoured it for me after I had a moan this morning using the live chat. Can't imagine it'll work for anyone else though.
My jacket turned up this afternoon and I'm very impressed with it, as bender says the material is very similar to the Castelli mortirolo. I'm now a 39in chest and got a meduim which is a nice ( tight ) race fit. I reckon with a quality base layer, like the endura baa baa or craft extreme you'd be able to get into some fairly low temps.
The jacket has impressed me enough to order the matching jersey and gilet.0 -
Assuming that you guys both have a Mortirolo to compare - which would you choose of the two? If I already have the Mortirolo then does the DHB offer me anything new?0

I used to have one. I'd take this over it. It's actually more simply constructed. And, crucially, it's half the RRP.
Rather controversially, I'd say it might give the Alpha Jacket a run for its money. And kills it on price.
It's fair to say that there's nothing revolutionary about the DHB jacket. It's simply a softshell. It's just that they seem to have fit, function and form all sorted for really really good moneyMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Slightly different view from bender but I wore my mortirolo down to minus 2 last year with a decent winter base layer and I'd be surprised if the DHB was that good tbh. I've bought this for when it's not cold enough for the mortirolo. I've also got an alpha jersey that I'll wear to about 7 degrees so I think this new one sits alongside that.
I've had other DHB jackets before but this one is miles better**.
** I'm suffering with man flu at the moment so it'll be a few days before I can try it properly so all the above should be taken with a pinch of salt!0 -
Big fan of the DHB Aeron stuff. Their 3/4 Roubaix bibs are the absolute dogs for autumn, spring (and for me, winter) riding. Great pad, very nice finish, windproof etc. The business.Trail fun - Transition Bandit

I was thinking the same........... About me though!
It'll drop in price once the latest code finishes.0 -
I wonder, as well, whether they have some sort of purchasing algorithm. Lots of purchases, price adjusts, particularly now the DHB2 code has gone.
For now, fingers crossed, the Gilet is still under £40............My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I wonder if maybe they're steeling themselves for the Black Friday reductions ? Is that a thing for WIggle ?0

Ordered the Aeron gilet. The lighter one. This is a real test. Too often manufacturers make gilets the same size as the equivalent jersey. Whereas they need to make them, say, 1cm bigger to take into account that they will be in top of something. If Wiggle have managed that then I will applaud them.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I did the same yesterday and was going to order the size up but I've stuck with med as I want a tightish fit, plus it's really easy to swop. Im wondering if it'll fit the jersey ( also ordered ) better than the jacket.
I've tried the jacket again today and assumed the position. It feels spot on.0 -

Softshell very good at -1C this morning.
Thanks for the update Bender - just for reference, how many layers were you wearing underneath this morning?
I have mine in the basket ready to buy, but will hold off till friday just in case theres a bit of black friday madness!
Hoping to get a pair of the long bib shorts too.0 -
Craft zero extreme base layer. So, on the chest, another thin layer of windproof membrane. The sleeves are very thin. Body was very warm, arms ditto. It was whether the arms would be as good as the Alpha (given that they are one layer). Initial impressions are very good. Only cold area was around the wrists but I'd stupidly put the wrong gloves on, too short. My normal winter gloves would have sorted that.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Really loving the Aeron Softshell jacket. I managed to get one from Wiggle for £60 with the dual discount offer that was running for a short period.
I did not need the jacket but was interested to see what it was like. I went for a size small and the fit is bang on - sleeves are a good length, cuffs are skin tight so easy interface with gloves, no excess material flapping around etc etc
Have worn it twice in the last week, each time with a l/s base layer and short sleeve jersey underneath. 3 hours in cold conditions ( about 4 or 5 degrees ) with frequent showers and 2 hours yesterday where the temp was just above zero.
Jacket performed brilliantly, I think Wiggle have done a really good job and now I am tempted by the other items in the line - tights, l/s jersey and gilet.0 -

Agh Bender!!
Like the look of those tights - think ill go for these over the windslam roubaix - they claim to be waterproof, so hopefully they are. Nothing worse than putting on cold, wet bib tights for the home commute after a morning soaking.
Lets hope they change the "algorithm" to discount mode on friday!0 -
As anyone got any opinions on the bib tights listed below in terms of warmth? I have a pair of DHB winter tights from 2010 (£35 jcheapest dhb option at the time) which have been superb but need replacing soon.

My l/s jersey and gilet turned up today and I'm very impressed with both and like the soft shell the fit is excellent. The gilet fits perfectly over the other tops and giving access to pockets is a good idea. It's good to hear some + feed back as I didn't think the jacket would be suitable for really low temps. I'll hopefully try it out later in the week.0
