Sadly it appears I cannot post on your blog anymore.
Since you have reviewed a number of bibshorts - I was wandering if you would do a "top ten" with a rationale with regards to bib shorts.
I am guessing that it will be close between Parentini, Assos and Red and White bibs for the top spot.

A La Passione review would also be very relevant, and to a lesser extent, Galibier.

How odd! I'll have a look into whether you're blocked later :D

I've worn the Assos Equipe Evo today. Probably the number 1 but the others are always very close. Parentini are doing a new top of the range short very soon.

I've also some La Passione jerseys on the way. But today wore the Rapha Training jersey. Where the hell has it been all my life? Literally like wearing nothing.

    Bender - question re: Parentini.

Have concluded that the Tiger.2 shorts which came with the Denmark national kit are my most comfortable.

Any idea what 'weight' the material is (light or mid) and which one I want if I am after a slightly heavier weight version?

This is the 2016 Olympic launch site:
    http://www.parentini.com/en/264/950/rio-2016-jersey

The blurb about the shorts is the same as here: http://www.parentini.com/en/303/-/introducing

so I am guessing they are the summer ones.

What's the difference between the Tiger and the Shark if I look at winter shorts - Thermo Roubaix vs Super Roubaix
    http://www.parentini.com/en/326/-/introducing

    Cheers.

I'll check. I reckon the Denmark Tiger.2 will be slightly lighter than the normal summer Tiger.2

Great. Thanks. The Denmark ones are pretty good for most conditons and actually not as light as, say, la passone summer shorts. Just thinking id love a pair of their winter shorts.

There's a pair on discount at ciclimatteo (sp?) So tempted by that as another summer pair.

Any idea about super Vs thermo Roubaix? Im guessing parentini do a good water resistant range based on the success of the mossa?

So, any Tiger.2 that's custom (which the Denmark are) will have slightly lighter side panels. The normal Tiger.2 are a bit more supportive etc. What's the pair you're looking at on Cicliamatteo?

On the latter point the Shark.2 come in a K-Dry version as per the Shark.2 bibtights. It's exceptionally good.

Great. Thank you for the update. These are they:

Think I want some standard tiger.2 then. Are the shark as good? They seem like a more budget pair and I really like the high density pad which isn't too soft and suits an aggressive position.

The Tiger.2 are better, but perhaps not RRP difference better. But that link suggests the Tiger.2 are only a few euro more in summer form? If so, I'd plump for those!

Is it? I make it 107 for those winter shorts on sale Vs 134 for summer ones which also seem to be out of stock in all sizes?

Edit: Unless you mean the shark ones?

Robot, what size of Rivelo 3/4 bibs have you settled on? I am slightly taller and narrower than you and really struggled getting my bottom into Large. I was really unimpressed with the pad in the first couple of hours of the first ride, but later on it kind of started disappearing (in a good way)

He's probably doing overtime to pay for all this kit he's testing.

Sorry! Mega busy dealing with that thing everyone voted on and associated stuff.

Anyhoo, Shirley, I'm sure they had some at 107 when I looked! Must be the curse of me looking. I'd probably get the Shark.2 and save some money?

Mamil, a large, they are quite tight, even on me, but shoulders are ok. I'd be worried if I went bigger that the bottom of the legs would be too long and they'd become tights!

I think the 107 is for the winter shorts. Can't decide whether to go for them or not. The price is pretty good, but would rather some normal weight ones, except they are out of stock everywhere.

I find it generally ok as long as the fabric is light enough.

You really should try the Assos Equipe, it is excellent in hot weather. I've used it in temps of >35degC and managed to stay reasonably comfortable.

I figure now is about the right time to start looking at cold weather gear, looking at Castelli Alpha ROS, maybe the Tempests....I have short sleeved gabba and perfetto already, alpha worth it (I generally run cold)?

FWIW, I wore a DHB Aeron Full Protection Softshell throughout last winter (adjusting base layers as necessary) and thought it was just fantastic.

Same here. After a year of thinking it was too warm for me (which it was on commutes) it was my essential on winter 100km rides. A well named piece of kit.

The dhb is great when it's really cold. Mostly round here last winter it was really cold and icy roads so too dodgy to ride or too warm for the dhb. I'm sure I'll get more wear this winter though.

Does anyone know how the DHB Full Protection Softshell would compare to the Castelli ROS Alpha Jacket in terms of warmth/temperature range. Presumably the Alpha would be a bit better in rain. Wondering how they'd stack up on very cold, dry winter days.

I've never worn an Alpha and therefore can't make a direct comparison but I can tell you that the DHB is very warm for the coldest winter days that we had in the SW last year with a merino buff around my neck, a 'string vest' and thin Howies merino base layer. I only got caught out whilst wearing it once in heavy rain but I was on my way home and only in the rain for about 20 minutes - it kept me dry apart from some water eventually making it's way past the buff and down my neck!
