Looks like no XLs left in the discounted version 1 Lusso jacket anyway unfortunately. They've got them in the version 2 but at 150 quid that's getting close to Alpha jacket money.

Update on the Lusso jacket. After returning it to them they are now adjusting the sleeve length for me and sending it back, all without any additional charge. Top service!
  • Just got my SeeSense rear light in the post. Really compact, and puts out a decent amount of light. Charging now, will get used in anger tonight.

Can't remember what any of the "connected" or "smart" stuff was supposed to be.

I forgot they did this, that is fantastic!

You can connect to the companion app from where you can toggle the alarm, crash and pairing (if you have a pair) functions. You can also see your charge state.

Does anyone actually use any of the smart features once they are up and running though? I dont and sometimes wonder why I paid so much for a light that had all this stuff I dont really want or need. Its still a great light though.

In fact I am waiting for their new kickstarter light to arrive any day soon and wont be using the smart features on that either...

I asked Cateye about this, I posted a comment I think on a bike radar facebook post an they "invited me" to PM them as I asked would it work while using the live track feature on for example a Wahoo, still yet to gen an answer on that one.

Don't think I'll be pairing it to my phone, don't so far see any advantage to that. I like the idea of it switching on when I switch on my Garmin though - connected through ANT+, and adjusting the brightness according to the ambient light levels.

Paid £23 for a decent rear light, so I'm happy.
  • I've never been overly sold on the app features (of most things really). They're good for pairing, checking on levels, setting the flash etc but I don't really use them much after that. For me the See Sense stuff is worth the money even without that extra stuff which I just rate as extra value.

After the weekend I ll do a bit on the Rapha Core kit if you like....

So how's this for long term testing..?

I got the tap on the shoulder from a trusted clubmate last night that these were no longer acceptable to wear around womenfolk...

So I guess that's 2 and a bit years of regular use (2 winters off in that time). Theyve been in the rotation pretty much constantly alongside an older pair of ProTeam shorts which are not yet getting thin. Used for pretty much everything. Road, MTB, MTB under baggies, winter etc etc.

So not at all bad for the money I'd say but notably less long lasting than the pricer stuff.

(Jersey is still top notch, one of my favourites)

Thumbs up for the DHB aeron bibs, though I haven't been on a long ride with them,
I bought L - i'm a M and the fit is good if a little bit short on the leg.

More Tinkoff than Movistar but not Looy.

I'd forgotten about the shorts leg length standard!
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

    Has BTR left the building?
I just tried to PM him, and then had a look at his profile, and it has nothing in his 'last active' value, does that mean he has abandoned us?

Would be a big loss if he has, always liked his input and reviews.

I've had a couple of runs with the SeeSense Ace lights . I like them - incredibly lightweight but bright. Not got the Android App yet but I'm happy with the actual lighting performance.

On top of that there's meant to be a theft alert, crash alert and some kind of personalisation. Bargain.

I recall the robotic one saying he was disbanding his FB page, and then saw no previous activity listed, so put 2 & 2 together, and made 56.

Yeah, the app stuff is pretty neat. I don't really use it myself but it is good to have. Being able to amend stuff like patterns, brightness etc is useful. But, above all, they're just terrific lights full stop.

Facebook is a pernicious evil. I downloaded my data and then got it all deleted. Good choice given the breaking news.
