Seems an odd fit unless Ford are getting their foot in the door with a long term plan to take over the sponsorship of the team when Sky go.0
-
Isn't the UK Ford's biggest marketplace in Europe?
And sponsoring Sky in this way will be a tiny proportion of their annual marketing budget.
And it gets them in front of the educated middle class.
They also have plenty of cars in the range that suits bicyclists, loads of SUVs and of course two new models in the Mondeo and the Vignale.0 -
Team Sky sponsored by Ford for 2016 onwards.
Ford's marketing department obviously think otherwise and have parted with the cash - so Sky will drive Ford!
Jaguar are part of Ford, no?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

No, they used to be, but Tata Motors own the company now - it's called Jaguar Land Rover.0 -

My mistake, I'm 8 years out of date!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Irony of establishment car manufacturers being owned by companies from former colonies doesn't get enough recognition.0

Well, when they were owned by Ford it was the same scenario, no?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Anyone know why Sky's new Ford fleet all have German numbers plates (Cologne more specifically)? The Jags were GB registered.
Fords home is Cologne. They possibly deal with all this sort of stuff from the base.0 -

It's a shame Sky weren't using X Types. They could have just stuck the Mondeo badge back on ;-)
It doesn't go as well with the whole "Bank manager" thing like the Pinarellos and the Jags of old. Perhaps they were trying to get away from that.0 -

That actually looks cool. Unlike the other bland thing on the previous page!0

I just want to see Froome's face when he wins the TDF and is presented with a Yellow Street KA instead of an F Type0

Interesting... ta! I wonder if Sky will re-reg with GB plates eventually?0 -

I used to work there. Not a very interesting fact!0 -

Vignale is a trim level not a model, a trim level whereby you buy in to the experience no less; personally I'd prefer something other then an 'experience' inc.
S-Max in Vignale could be interesting.0 -
Sweet baby Jesus... Tan wall tyres! :?0

Like the Scorpio. It will be marketed as a different car though.
I guess they couldn't say 'you get everything on the Ghia'.0 -

I quite like that, much nicer than that Trek abomination.0 -

I've got tan wall on my veroflex tyres what's wrong with them ?0 -

Retro tyres on a carbon bike look fugly. Just my opinion. It's the cycling equivalent of sandals and long white socks.0 -
