Joined by, guess who, Sagan. Astana and Movi could do with adding some horsepower here. Pressure the train early.

At col des Lèques, Rafal Majka (Tinkoff) scores two points and Kristjian Durasek (Lampre) one. Tejay van Garderen is one minute behind.

Are BMC dropping any bodies back for him or was this expected?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Come on boys, drill this, don't let the 'I don't have to attack' US rider get back on.

30 riders at the front, Van Garderen at 1.15
Sagan, Talansky and Kruijswijk have been caught. A group of 30 riders go clear. Damiano Caruso tried to bring Van Garderen accross. Van Garderen calls for medical assistance.

TJ seeking medical car assistance.0 -
30 rider peloton is pretty selective at this point.0

Should a group with all the main favourites in fact be considered the peloton?Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
This is going to be brutal. Only 30 riders left in the front group after only the first 3rd cat climb.0

TJ well off the pace now. Over 3 mins down. Valverde rubbing his hands in glee.0

Who knows. Now Sagan +23 others are in the leading group. Yellow back in the peloton.0

Surely these are the wrong way round.
This is France, the only nation on earth where "philosopher" is a job title.
In the 17th century?
Watch any French current affairs programme and I can all but guarantee that at some point a "philosopher" will be asked for their opinion.
I think they see their philosophers slightly different to us. To the French, the likes of Christopher Hitchens would be seen as a philosopher rather than a journalist.
Indeed. This man is taken somewhat seriously as an intellectual by certain members of French society.
