Unfortunately yes, that means they will have 4 riders to plough the furrows for him0 -
Lots of people seem to have got the day off work to be posting today.0

My 2:30 meeting just got cancelled0 -
Let's not talk about that 'attack' like it actually was an attack, it was obviously just a minor stab just to set a precedent.
Sending Rogers up the road now.0 -
Ah Migraines. Get them a lot.
What will be more galling for him is, once he gets off the bike, sleeps (as best he can) for a night he'll feel right as rain.
But on the bike you will dig yourself into a literally unbearable hole until you stop pedalling.
Have to say, I've always thought, even if I could cycle fast enough to be a pro, I'd be undone by migraines.0 -
Not a fan of TJ really - not a rider that adds anything to the race so while it's very sad for him and I'm quite pleased some riders behind him on GC who have shown a bit more adventure can move up a place.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0
-
Sad to see TJ leave the race in this manner.
Edit; If he is out with a migraine, then that is tough luck. As Rick says, he will be as right as rain in the morning but while he is struck by the migraine, he is powerless to do anything. Used to get one bad one each year. Loss of sight in one eye, splitting headache and nausea/vomiting. They are no joke.

Ah yes, but using Mick Rogers to set up your attack and having two guys in the front group to bridge up to is ok though?
One is attacking one is defending.Contador is the Greatest0 -
You've got to say, if you get migraines then winning a 3 week race in the heat of the French summer is always going to be an Achilles heel.0

Can sleep ( or lack of ) precipitate an attack? Wondering if the vampires visited him at funny'o'clock and it wibbled his noggin...
Sad to say, my first thought was "dodgy treatment on the rest day". I long for the days when I was young and innocent - it was a nicer place.0 -

This.
I've only ever had a few, but can barely see, then throw up, then feel like death for a few hours. No way I'd be anywhere near a bike.0 -
Contador cruising away in the pack like a heavyweight champion.
Someone just had a sign up with his name on it, I could tell it was his name, cos I could read it.0 -

Jeez, I've got a couple of pink Migraleve in my pocket if he'd only asked. Only a bit fluffy too.
More seriously, horrible thought.___________________

Sad to say, my first thought was "dodgy treatment on the rest day". I long for the days when I was young and innocent - it was a nicer place.
So for me, migraines are triggerd by relaxation after unusual stress/excitement (so, tragically, I saw the Tour in 2008, was so excited & concentrated during that about 7pm at dinner I got KO'd by a bad one), and significant departures in eating habbits.
So you can imagine what my birthdays & Christmases were like as a kid.
In TJ's case, day after a rest day (break in rhythm, both eating & riding) excessive nerves for the day ahead might all have triggered.
But everyone has different triggers.0 -
According to the tracker Majka has attacked.0

must admit I've always thought that they were a bit of a fake illness, suffered by the weak
mainly because a woman I work with "suffers" from them, and they always seem to come along when we most need her0 -

Herrada was pushing on too. They need to make Porte and Roche pay the ride. Helps that a stage win is the prize....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

I'm in the lucky position of having had one. Just one. Sufficient for me to understand what others go through, but without any of the recurring pain.0 -

There are a couple of triggers and it probably varies from person to person. Chocolate is one, believe it or not, but for me and many others it is sustained hot weather and also bright sunlight. Once it strikes, you just have to ride it out. Can take a day or even two to return to normal.
I doubt it was a blood bag.
