Watched the coverage today - how did a hipster, presumably riding a fixie, win a stage of the tdf?0

New shoes and glasses for Froome today btw.Contador is the Greatest0

At 24:05, can anyone tell which bike Sagan is on? Looks like Contador's.

AC would have lost half a minute to a minute in that original incident and he ended up over two minutes down so there may have been more farting about with bikes further down the descent. If Sagan was with AC on the way down then it's unlikely AC/Sagan would have lost more time as they can both descend.
In the footage I saw, Sagan and one other stopped with AC. There was an issue with AC's bike they weren't able to resolve between them, so Sagan gave up his bike. AC got to the bottom of the descent and swapped back to his spare.
AC stopped three times on the way down then? Blimey, hence the two minutes plus he lost. Ahhh...
So a bike change takes what, 10 secs max between 2 riders? And a new bike from the car takes 15 secs? Where did the rest of the time go? I still think he would have dropped on the final climb2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium

He's leaving for more money.
He can suck it up.
I think that QS is the environment for you if you're one of those people who can get motivated by being yelled at. Pat, Peeters, Cav on a bad day...
Seems fairly justified a lot of the time.
I have little sympathy. They're paid very well and they know they'll get praised to high heaven if they do well. Cuts both ways.
Same (less extreme) in my job. If you're sh!t you suck it up. If you're good, the sun shines out of your ass.0 -
Good shots. Waiting for the day a pro calmly pulls his bike up during a race and goes for a swim in the lake, rivers or sea.0

Contador's bike at the finish was his spare:

What does that prove? The bike he was riding at the finish had both his number and gps tracker thing on it.
Far more likely he simply lost his computer in the crash (or that pic is from another bike at another time, as there is no context.), when he fell off going round a corner other people seem to have no problem with. Even with him standing in the way. I still don't think he changed bikes. Need some footage of it really2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium

Photo was from yday I just cropped it. Look at the video I posted and go to 24:05, Sagan is on Contador's bike.
Imagine descending a mountain like that on someone elses bike. Can be sure he will lose time there.
He looked in very good form today so would find it hard to believe he was going to get dropped. In fact he was planning a little move at the end.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Someone on another forum put Pinot's fall down to a pedal strike. I just watched the replay a few times and you can definitey see him coast around the first part of the hairpin and then with his first turn of the cranks his LH pedal strikes, lifting the backwheel slightly and throws him off.
Definitely. Watched highlights with a mate earlier and he spotted that straight away so we "rewound" it to confirm - I'd missed it on the live coverage.

That grainy video only shows Sagan riding a bike that clearly fits him. How are you so sure it is Contadors? You can't see the number, or any particulars at all. Why so sure?
Edit: Having checked Sagan's bike from the sprint earlier in the stage it is def a different bike to what he is riding in that pic.. Black bar tape giving it away.2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium

Correct, Sagan rides black bar tape (unfortunately), you can see it here: http://nos.nl/tour/video/2048387-nos-camera-ziet-contador-opkrabbelen.html
Then as you say, the bike he is riding at 24:05 is white bar tape (which Contador rides), you can also see the paint scheme is different (remember Sagan has the custom job)
Regardless, over 2mins to bin yesterday is really a bit much.
As an aside, TJ time up the final climb in the Dauphine was faster than Quintana's time yesterday (by just under 30 secs) so not like the GC group was going full gas.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I assume you took into account wind direction, air pressure and the fact this was stage 17 of a GT and not stage 5 of a week long race, before making that judgement?2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium

Who cares? They were racing, which is more entertaining than full gas.

Because it's generally a good rule of thumb to consider anything which comes out of Contador's mouth to be lies, half truths and massive exaggerations?0 -
Well Mick Rogers has a slightly different story... he said (as recorded on the ITV podcast) that he put the chain back on Contador's bike and sent him on his way.
Presumably, this is true... Of course it is entirely plausible that Contador's machine wasn't operational and maybe Sagan gave Contador his bike a little further down the descent... but Rogers makes no mention of this which is odd (unless he didn't follow for some reason).0 -
Stress levels as the 'oh shoot my bike is broken' kicks in, race situation, leaders getting away etc. Are the riders the best people to know what happened in the immediate aftermath of something like this. Nibali didn't even get it right as to who crashed into him a few days back.0

Yes this is definitely true as shown in the video. But he had to stop shortly after due to a broken front wheel which is when he stopped then switched to Sagan's bike.Contador is the Greatest0
