Are sky clean or not?

Vayer moaning because Froome isn't using his lab. He'd be lucky if Froome crossed the street to piss on him if he was on fire.
Tucker discrediting the entire thing because Pistorius 'shopped around until he found someone willing to say he got no advantage from his legs', therefore Froome has done the same.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
Porte's 29mins 40secs up the Madone has been beaten. By Froome.Contador is the Greatest0

What is the story behind that 'technique'. Also what is the story behind his extra what 2-4kg, looks chunky?Contador is the Greatest0 -
I think it's just the shorter armed T-shirt he is wearing. Something going on with his knee though, crash damage?0

If you follow the genesis of that rumour on Twitter it's hilarious.
I might tweet that Cavendish beat Froome's time by 30 seconds tomorrow and we'll have Antoine Vayer discussing Peta's love life within an hour, a Ross Tucker article within 3 hours comparing Cavendish to OJ Simpson and Paul Kimmage tomorrow evening decrying the lack of transparency in Cav's Oakleys on Off The Ball and pointing out he was sponsored by Sky in his GB kit at the Revolution this weekend.0 -

It's a VO2 Max test, the clue is in the word "Max". Some gentle encouragement helps the subject achieve their maximum effort.0 -

Either you pander to him, thereby looking desperate and giving him legitimacy and publicity he craves, or you ignore him and call him a clown.Twitter: @RichN950 -

I am not on twitter for starters and second off are you saying the time is not legit? I mean I know Porte thought no one could beat it.......Contador is the Greatest0 -

did any results from the GSK testing of Froome ever get released?Twitter: @RichN950

Ah, but did he break his foot on purpose to avoid the tests?0

^Not convinced the results of his jaunt will ever see the light of day0

What about Henao's altitude study?0

Yup, I suspect you're right. The only thing that *might* convince people of his cleanliness would be his UCI Aigle test results from 2007(?), I would've thought.0 -
What about Henao's altitude study?
See the University of Sheffield. Back in Jun, Dr Eddie Hampton was quoted in a Cyclingtips piece:
“The research around this case has been taken very seriously and we undertook a large amount of complex scientific analysis before giving our recommendation for Sergio to be allowed to return to racing. It’s still our intention to publish the results in the scientific literature. There are many processes to take into account when you write and publish scientific papers and delays of over a year are not unusual in these cases. We hope it can be done as soon as possible.”0 -

This. See also the question raised in The Other Place, when Grappe et al published Pinot's training data but didn't include the numbers from the Tour 2014. That the race had only finished a matter of weeks earlier and the paper had likely been complete Quite Some Time before was lost.
edit: though I have been meaning to ask about the Henao data and any intentions to publish. Is the sort of thing they *may* have wanted to keep under wraps, though will no doubt be very useful.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
Froome is clean, no two ways about it. If anybody thinks he isn't then its safe to assume the entire peloton is doping. Even Walsh thinks Froome is clean.
Froome = clean
Wiggins = clean
Evans = clean.
Nibali = ?
Contador = ?0 -

Thank goodness you've cleared that up once and for all!

Just found out that a relative of mine was involved in a medical study 4 years ago. The study has just been published!0 -
One of my friends got their dissertation (well part of it) included in a paper his supervisor published, it was published 2 years after we graduated.0
-
There are lots of reasons for these delays.
People (like me) take ages to write stuff up because they need more data to make a good paper and so get it into a better ranking journal. Academics are under huge pressure to publish in top journals, low rank journals mean very little on their cv.
People (like me) get sent loads articles to review because of the above, with very variable scientific quality. Often its difficult to judge because of the writing quality. For reviewing these we get paid zero, and it has minimal effect on our cv. The only benefit is the chance of an exclusive preview of good stuff, and the hope that someone else will do a fair appraisal of their own work (but reviewers are almost always anonymous). We are doing our own research at the same time, as well as justifying 9k fees from ever more demanding students.
For these reasons review is low on our list of priorities.
Last published paper I was involved in was to a low rank journal (it was ok but not earth shattering, but helps my junior collaborators who did the lab work) and my employer isn't interested. It took about 6 months to do the work, a month to submit and another 5 to be published, with very minor text revisions.
As RR2 says, welcome to the world of academia.
Addendum: and that's for stuff that not many people care about and doesn't involve lawyers.0 -
Back to Froome and his lab tests, I've been told that rather bizarrely the results will be published in a..ahem...gentleman's magazine coming soon.
Hard to fathom I know. Worth pointing out this whole shebang is Froome and his people's doings. Not Sky.0 -

Is it Razzle? It's Razzle isn't it?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I think Walsh is waiting for someone else to do the leg work then he'll come in at the last minute and claim the credit.
There is evidence either way but looking at the way Froome sprinted up Mont Ventoux and his sudden transformation into a GC rider there is no way he did this clean.0 -
