The Giant Defy brought for Stage 4 with "Extra wide Shimano brakes with more clearance to allow extra wide (30mm.) tires"
from here http://teamgiantalpecin.com/tour-de-france-innovations-the-classics-bike/
The silver thing on the original photo shows " an extra set of inline quick-releases on the front and rear brakes to provide the maximum range of adjustment on both wide- and narrow-profile wheels while still allowing for quick wheel changes"0 -

TJ could do a Nibali on this stage, stealing away with GVA & Co to an unassailable advantage. Offering big rewards to those prepared to take the extra risk, or develop the skills, is why it's worth taking on the additional chance of cobbled accidents....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. What's the betting that after the last two days of chaos and all the hype before this stage that the GC rider's squads manage to keep them pretty much together with barely any time gaps?
The sections aren't that hard and it's going to be dry this year.0 -

Doesn't seem as tough as last year. I expect a few small gaps, but nothing significant.
Big, possibly non-GC group to sprint out a finish. Degenkolb or Kristoff?0 -

So, here's what's going to happen. Bit underwhelming racing on the cobbles, yet still enough to do some damage and Greipel will eventually win it.
Still decent money to get on the big guy in live bet as well.0 -

Game Over? - with 7 mtf's ... uh huh'Do not compare your bike to others, for always there will be greater and lesser bikes'0 -
I'd like to see Etixx splitting the race up in the last 20k as the wind picks up with Stybar taking the stage and Tony Martin in yellow.
What I actually think will happen is a sprint from a bunch of about 30-40 with most of the GC guys just about safely in the group.
Now watch it be carnage.0 -
Gap at a highly suspect 4:20. Peloton might have their eye on the sprint in a bit. Or it's the start of a leadout....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

I'm going to keep editing it throughout the stage so I'll get it right eventually.0 -
Froome isn't the most elegant fella but i'm happy to see him only wearing yellow from the waist up.0
