Mountain train riders are not hard to come by.
I look forward to him doing his thing in the mountains then. Riding everyone bar Froome off the wheel.
As it stands, had he been properly placed coming into the mountains then he could move up a mountain and force the others to chase him...but now if he goes off up the mountain none of the other teams will bat an eyelid.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Well people thought he would beat Contador in the Giro.0

Agreed. Imo, based on many years of results and performances, Porte is several rungs below for a GT contender.Contador is the Greatest0

They may also have looked at Majka last year and decided that that was a better 'Plan B' than a GC based one.Twitter: @RichN950 -

What's the gripe with Porte? He does his job (Froome loves him) and has had some good invidual rides. They can't all be contenders.0 -

There is an aspiration that he be a contender but every time he's been given GT leadership he's failed. For that FF slates him and the rest suggest that the potential is still there...0 -

Bit like Joaquim Rodríguez, but without all the doping teams?0 -

Nah, Richie's been on alleged doping teams as well but without the GT podiums or consistency.0 -
