Oh I spotted the Lee Anderson comment. Salty language but if they're not happy with the standard of their accommodation they are free to go. Fair enough.

Funny how Abbott deleted her tweet quite quickly don't you think?

Eh? It was stupid, so she deleted it... at least she had enough sense for that (or someone told her to, if she didn't have enough sense).

Have you ever sent/posted anything you've regretted? I sure have.

A friend of mine once thought he had commented to me, in reply to some garbled English, "Are all Americans illiterate?" I pinged back "I hope you didn't 'Reply to All' ", to which he quickly replied "Oh fvck!"
I'm guessing that somebody had to tell that it was a really stupid thing to post, even if it was some sort of response to Lee Anderson.

I can't remember if she has a reputation for enjoying the sauce, but I suspect that the reduced critical awareness that that induces is responsible for a large proportion of "Oh fvck, what was I thinking?" moments in modern instant communications. At least the old days you had to put it in an envelope, stick a stamp on it, and find a post box to put it in, probably the next (and sober) day.

Would you rather she left it up?

All this exchange proves is that Labour have their nutcases, but they have been pushed to the margins. The Tories nutcases get given jobs like Deputy Party Chairman, Home Secretary and Immigration Minister.

Pushed to the margins? She's sitting as an independent!

Hunting around for deleted tweets of former Labour MPs. Must be a slow day.

Don't really care either way, it's been screenshotted.

I am a little more sympathetic about regretting posting something stupid in the moment than most, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Difficult to GAF as I don't know what Abbott tweeted and can't be bothered to look it up.

In response to 30p. I doubt if it would have crossed her mind without him kicking off.

Looks like even Labour now think that wealth taxes are a bad idea.

I think it will be remarkable what changes they make when the finances are in an even worse state than they ever imagined once they take office.

Can you imagine the note that will be left on the desk this time around?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

It'll be interesting to see how Labour wave their little leftie magic wand and make it all OK without shafting people for more money.

Bit of a bad thing to have to admit that 13 years of Tory government hasn’t improved the public finances from the height of the financial crisis.

The awkward part is the tories found the "magic money tree" and emptied it.
    Yet things are still sheeite.

Can blame austerity on them but can't blame COVID on them any more you can blame GFC on labour

No, but isn't it amazing that when required they found the money tree which they had previously derided?

Austerity politics innit. Europeans loved it. Shame they didn't follow the US or China with a bit of stimi.

The money tree was found when they were looking for some compliant masks.
Covid days were the complete opposite of austerity as far as I see it.

Absolutely. Not an unreasonable argument to suggest all that global stimulus is why we're getting whacked by inflation.

You thought it was unreasonable when I made it at the time.
