It’s a franchise that’s turned over $30bn over the course of its life. If you don’t know it that’s ignorance.focuszing723 said:It could well have been me for various mistakes. CoD, call of duty? Not that I play it.

Games are the second biggest media format after TV, and makes more than music and film combined…
Just GTA5 made over $7bn!0 -
The relevance to this thread was that they had to restructure the deal due to the CMA which many said wouldn't happen. Whether the CMA picked a pointless battle or whether the EU was not protecting its consumers is beyond my knowledge. I've seen both suggested.0

Yeah sure, I know, but some people might not be interested in that sort of thing.rick_chasey said:

It's akin to when you said "Singers". I didn't like to mention it in case I looked more of an idiot than usual, but then it turned out no other Cakeist knew either.
Anyway, Brexit...

Mind you, I won't be counting any chickens just yet, given the history of exit polls and final results involving populists.

Much like our government should do. Waiting on the "We can't take refugees." bit though. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

This is all a bit of an Israeli trope. Why can't the "Arabs" go and live in other Arab countries leaving Israel for Israelis. That the other countries won't accept them is then used to justify the idea that the Palestinians must be particularly bad and that the surrounding Arab countries have no compassion. It skips over the radical idea that Palestinians might want to live in Palestine.rick_chasey said:

I was alluding to the point that Britain should take on more refugees in general and that it's not just a UK thing to be anti immigrant, but OKTheBigBean said:

Especially if the UK is involved in backing one of the parties in it.
1.1m refugees is a tonne. Think how up in arms Brits get for their puny numbers.0 -
A small addendum and tangent; the hedge fund that was most prolific in its bet on Brexit has announced it will finally shut down, after the eponymous manager Mr Odey has been accused by multiple women of being a serial sexual predator.0

Keep chipping away. It's rather like trying to stop a table wobbling by shortening each leg in turn, until one's left with a table with no legs. Problem sorted.

A Sun opinion piece today states that it’s Egypt’s responsibility to accept all Gazan children as refugees.TheBigBean said:

Apologies, but I always think of this amazing bit of TV when I hear that word.

Funny, I can't find this mentioned in the Telegraph. Or on a cowed BBC. But they both have articles on a lonely sheep, which is obviously much more important.

Oh indeed - edging back towards the EU. Bit by bit. Maybe they weren't the bogeymen after all. Maybe it was just the Tories.

Said it at the time. All the UK's problems were under the control of Westminster, not the EU. All Brexit has done is remove the false bogeyman.briantrumpet said:Oh indeed - edging back towards the EU. Bit by bit. Maybe they weren't the bogeymen after all. Maybe it was just the Tories.

No idea what The Blob is, but Alister Heath is violently opposed to it, so it's probably a good thing on balance if it exists.0 -

Don't forget wokists too.
I think it's ironic that the main benefit of Brexit is going to be the realisation that it was never the EU's fault and for killing the idea of UK exceptionalism.0 -
