We had a great day, cycled over to York from Wakey, Bagged a good viewing spot outside a pub in town so could keep up with the race and nip out twice to see them whiz past.

What astounded me were how narrow the town circuit was, the right hander just after the finish line looked suicidal, but there was no drama.

I was shouting for the Giant guy, for a while I thought he was going to stay away.

Anyway Its pissing down here, just heading over to a mates to heat into town for the start.

[edit] And the atmosphere was great, we had a mini sprint on the finishing straight when we came into town, and hundreds of people hammered the boards and cheered us in :D

My Man Reinardt Janse van Rensburg in the break.

They don't half work hard these Qhubeka boys.

I like Wiggo's string-back gloves in the photo above.

Also... Straight back on an SRM the second his Sky contract expires!

This should be good. I expect BMC (and GVA) are going to make it hard.

Moses from my old club, the Bronte wheelers, and you can probably work out where they are from!

Remnants of the break will be caught before next sprint bonus & Cow and Calf.

Enger doing his countryman a favour and trying for the last bonus sec.

It's probably been mentioned earlier in the thread, but Boulting and Millar are an absolute joy to listen to, so much better than the usual ITV muppets.

Incidentally, can anyone think of another 2.1 race with a crowd like this?

    Absolutely blinding.

As well attended as any race, bar TdF, regardless of category?

I always forget how posh Millar is
