On top of what I have written I will add:

Had Lizzie not attacked Pooley would have won Gold. GOLD.

After she chased down her own teammate there were three chasing Pooley. That gap from them to Pooley EXPANDED.

If for some reason Pooley's lead was in danger and she got caught then Lizzie could have gone. You saw how much better she was. She knew she was that much better. If you watch womens cycling you know Lizzie would have smoked them.

So you Pooley haters you are wrong to defend Lizzie. She is a selfish rider who showed no respect for a rider who made the entire race and was in her last ever race. When Lizzie was in the warm and protected British Track Cycling environment, Pooley was trail blazing on the roads of Europe.

What on earth is a Pooley hater? I have nothing but respect and admiration for her. And why do you always see things in those terms - fans/haters? Just because you have an entirely subjective emotional response to certain riders that prevents you from objectively analysing their performance it doesn't mean everyone else has. That's just projection.

    Bang on.

I don't think anyone has said anything that shows anything but clear admiration here for Pooley.

What the hell is Kennaugh up to?

He knows nothing less than 165km solo is an acceptable way to win

Watched Phil Griffiths attack at the start of the Archer RR in 1978 and he wasn't seen by the rest of the race until after the finish. It really would be something if Kennaugh could pull this off here...

Can only imagine he's expecting others to bridge to him

Absolutely right. It is highly unlikely Pooley would have been caught by the others if Armitstead hadn't chased her down, but even if Pooley was caught, not only could Armitstead have used her superior sprinting ability in the finish but, as you say, could have attacked there and then. It was not only supremely selfish by Armitstead, but not smart either.

Assume this is the case and keeping clear of the choppers on a wet and fairly twisty circuit. He's certainly looking committed!

Not sure these camera bikes have covered cycling before. They are doing a great job of motor pacing both Kennaugh and the chasers!

Annoying that he is here though - was hoping he would be in Poland contesting for the win!

Maybe he values the very rare opportunity to represent the IOM?

Two IOM plus a Guer and a Can are already 3mins adrift.

And another IOM just packed. It would be sad if all that PK achieves is making sure none of his team-mates finish.

    Has Millar been dropped yet?

Looks like half the field has.

Cav is in the team car and seems angry with PK? Maybe his impetous that dropped the two IOM riders and Cav not happy about that? Or that it is super early and unorthodox? Looks like PK was shaking his head and shouting but I may be wrong and it may have been motivational by Cav?

Millar still in the bunch (blue outfit with white helmet) along with most of the other big names

Possibly but then this is supposed to be a medal race rather than a pootle round for some small island boys. If people are getting dropped already they should have saved their money and not come.

Maybe sensible to smash it off the start, but keeping it going? He's not going to gain a lap...

Better than playing shadow man in the bunch.

Now for a long time he will get IOM name on the tv and give the fans something to cheer about.

    Rohan Dennis down.
