The 14km (8.7 miles) road race route also starts in Glasgow Green and will see riders speeding through the city's streets, including Argyle Street, Buchanan Street and St Vincent Street, before carrying on to the West End of the city, where they will pass through Kelvingrove Park and circuit the west end before heading back towards the city centre and the finish.

Forecast is for a very wet day, meaning the "pave" of Argyle st and Buchanan St will be trecherous.
Especially with pools of diesel all over the place.

Cool. Armitstead will be happy, it seemed to suit her at the nationals in 2013, as was able to wear people out on Montrose street. The weather will also sort out the people who are really up for it.0 -
^^^ nice rumour. Hope it's true.
Off to do an AlleyCat then talk pish for 10 hours
This morning's weather.

Does anyone know of any streams available for those of us outwith the uk?
Barring a Scottish win, hoping for Reta Trotman to get in a break and nick it for NZ.0 -
If the weather is bad, and it looks like it will be, Stannard could be in with a shout if he is back to full fitness.0
-
Hope the crowds start to build for the Women's race. Small bunch trundling round at times almost empty streets looks dismal, can't be that inspiring to ride. Why not run the men's race first for once?0
-
Its on BBC 1 and yes I agree the crowds are pitiful. Scotland not doing very well here. Maybe it is too early for them - they should pay some Yorkshire people to attend. Red and white kit looks lovely on the ladies.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Last time we will see the diminutive firecracker that is Pooley. Quite unique. Hope she wins; sure she will try.Contador is the Greatest0
-
I hope Trott and King come nowhere.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Pooley lights it up and drags three plus Armitstead clear (Vill, Crom, Pasia). Got 100m but no one helping her for a long while. Two chasers.Contador is the Greatest0

Pathetic0 -
37km, Aus and Scot chaser bridge. Pure racer Pooley still dragging them round.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Chasers at secs. Pooley drilling and Armitstead now helping some. Rest sucking like defensive losers.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Undulating nature of the circuit is good with little flat, straight and exposed areas.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Pooley the perfect team mate. Is this the decisive split? Crowd growing thankfully. A bit too much for Archibald?0
-
33km, chasers at 40secs (well basically just a Canadian lady with an eng nz and aus on the wheel). Pooley doing 98% of the work...dont like this. She needs to drop them rather than increase the lead - eng would be fine if it came back which it never will.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Pooley lights it up again. Cromwell goes inside out to cover. Armitstead takes it up as Pooley slips back. Scottish lady dropped.
Lol, they sit up as they dont want to work...Pooley regains and attacks hard. Gapped all of them for 50m with Aus 5m behind.
Aus FINALLY takes a turn. They have 5 secs.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Aus is Elwin. She hits the front and those behind catch. Scot lady bridged then now suffering. Back together but legs are smoked. Lizzie looks comfortable. Pooley will go again.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Noone is driving hard yet anyway0
-
Absorbing race. Assume that the Aussies can sprint? Don't know about the South African. Archibald still there!0
-
Some aus goes inside out...gets 5m and lizzie covers with her body in the wind, her hands on the top and her mouth closed.
70km done. Lap 5 22.22.
Scot is Archibald.
Next across line are 1.20. Being the stupid commonwealth games they are basically all brits and aussies and nzs.Contador is the Greatest0 -
26km to race. Pooley on the front.Contador is the Greatest0
-
Not much pace at all for a minute, see if Australia try jump again0
-
Nailbiting stuff. Lizzie can afford to wait for the sprint, but would probably prefer a smaller group. Would be great to see Archibald hang on and sprint to a medal. Just started to rain.0
-
Small climb taken harder leaves Armitstead covering and the front for a moment, but unimportant as noone goes and they are all still together. Archibald is shattered though.0
