I do hope that they continue to do the Black and Yellow scheme on the 2015 bikes. I love how it looks.

I'm not sure carbon is the right way to go for Nukeproof (or any similar brands) they will be competing against the premium brands.
Obviously it won't be carbon Nukeproof against canbon Santa Cruz but they will be up against the premium brand aluminium bikes and im not entirely sure they will win enough sales once they get over £3.5k

With Canyon and YT going carbon I don't think brands like Nukeproof can afford to stick solely to aluminium. Carbon is a big seller and for many wanting the ultimate trail/enduro/*insert marketing buzzword* bike without spending mega bucks a decently priced carbon frame and/or bike would be great. Having ridden a few Mega TR's I think they're great fun on descents but imo it benefit from a diet, just to bring it up to speed with lighter bikes like the 5010 and SB5c. I imagine plenty won't be bothered lugging an extra lb or two round, but probably an equal amount who would take the brand more seriously if they stepped into the carbon side of things.

Nukeproof have just proved that you don't need carbon to win DH world cup races so I don't think they will go carbon with the Pulse, they aren't even going 650b on the Pulse for 2015.
Part of the appeal for the Mega TR is that it's a cheap bike which is a lot of fun to ride. It's not pretending to be a serious race bike and they are selling heaps of them.

Interesting prototype air shock from Fox. Could compete with the CCDB air if they get it right.

Can you compare a 5010 or a SB5 witha Mega TR? From a price point alone the three are somewhat disparate. I was torn between a Mega TR and the Bronson - I went with the Bronson because I see it as a bike I will keep for years (although based on the daily frame damage I am seeing maybe not!) where as I figured the Mega might become a little disposable. I figure the same views would factor into the thinking of someone considering a SB5 over a Mega or possibly if the SB5 is in your budget you dont even think of the Mega?

I would agree that the build quality of the Mega is nowhere near as good as Santa Cruz.

Perhaps the 5010 and SB5 were bad examples! I agree that many who want a Santa Cruz or Yeti wouldn't give a carbon nukeproof a second thought but then they'll be others who aren't as bothered by the name and if they could source a quality carbon frame for the price of aluminium "boutique" frame then they may start stealing a few sales.

The performance has to be right as well. A Fox DHX is cheaper than a CCDB coil but it doesn't stop Cane Creek selling shed loads of coil shocks.

The Bionicon looks great though, the lack of go-faster racing stripes is nice.

New Spectral CF looks great! Will be interesting to see how they build them up and what prices are like!

    Canyon-Spectral-090-780x520.jpg

Also an alloy version of the new Strive

The Ghost AMR Riot LT looks pretty ace too, but the sizing looks a little funky, in who's world does a medium bike have a 19" seat tube?!

Keep coming back to that Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt BC that was posted a few pages ago, it just looks so damn nice, shame Rocky don't have a huge presence in the UK anymore, I'd love to have a razz on one, looks like my kinda bike!

In case you don't fancy any of the perfectly good wheels available for under £300 Crank Bros have released a budget version of their already crap Cobalt wheels.

Now poor people can have form over function as well with the Cobalt 1 wheels 8)

I was surprised to see he was on the Bronson for the Trans Savoie. He's generally ridden the Tall Boy in previous enduro efforts and I'd have imagined the Nomad might have been calling his name if not.

Thats a vivid air, but I have seen the prototype air version of the prototype coil shock that the Fox guys have been testing, can't remember where I saw it though!

Yeah it does look pretty nice, this years stealthy black version looks sweet 8) Rocky have made some awesome bikes over the years, as I've said if I wanted a proper xc bike I'd look no further than an element. Hopefully with bikes like the Thunderbolt, Altitude and the new Flatline that's doing the rounds atm they'll get back to where they deserve in the UK, they're a great brand and it seems a shame they've kind of faded away. I sense (and hope for) a Kona-like resurgence over the next year or two!!
