Leogang is just a bike park track.

What does that statement even mean? Whistler is a bike park and whilst some of the trails are easy enough the full on Canadian Open is not easy and definitely needs a DH bike to do it at speed. Champery is (technically) a bike park track too. Hajfell also. Nobody seems to mind their inclusion on any list of DH tracks, same with Lenzeheide (spelling) for next year - sure its purpose built for racing but its still within a bike park setting.

I dont see the complaint against Leogang - the racing from there for the past two seasons has been tight, thrilling and from what I read most of the pros actually like the majority of it. Same with Windham - one line? short? the racing was still thrilling and Bryceland proved that if you look there are alternate lines in there.

Haha, the whole wheel size debate summed up in one sentence :D

half an inch? My Bronson in a 2.3 trail tyre is more like an inch and a half bigger in diameter on the wheel than my big hit shod with 2.5 DH tyres - so I`d disagree with the half inch out stuff - I know SS you don`t like 650B but you trot out this nonsense about having the same diameter on a 26er if you put a big tyre on but nobody makes big enough tyres to do that!

I`d like to do a back to back test of a similar bike to my Bronson but with 26 inch wheels to get a better comparison of the difference but I know I like the way the 650B handles and carries itself on the terrain I am riding everyday.

You're quite right it's not half an inch. Just less, the radius of the rim is 12.5mm larger.

    I have never said I dislike 650b.

And it's not nonsense either, it does depend on the tyre. More larger 650b tyres are now available (DH ones - and many models of larger tyres as well - were simply not available when 650b hit the market and I first said these things in WMB), and let me guess a 2.5 inch maxxis high roller or minion? I have 2.2 tyres larger than those. The larger tyre on a smaller rim does make sense for some if they want a certain overall radius as they can take advantage of the attributes of a larger tyre. Don't misquote me and say it is nonsense, is out of order.

I've just read on mtbr that it's a very early prototype to test leverage rates and the suspension platform, so it's far from the finished article as I first suspected. One of the Yeti employee's also said its likely to be carbon when it goes into production, but that's a long way off yet apparently.

The geometry looks cracking on paper! Nice long tt, low bb and shortish chainstays and the price is pretty staggering! Bit heavier and not as carbon as I usually like but I'd be interested to see how it rode! Chuck on a 36 and some Enve's and that could be a damn nice ride 8)

What size rider would the xs be suitable for and how much does it weigh?

And a rough guess for an average build weight for the xs?

Interesting. I've just measured my daughter and she's got 7" to go, but... She's on a Scott Spark Jr 20 at the moment but she'll have outgrown that before too long so I'm starting to think about where she goes next.

Slightly unrelated note, how are those Raceface Wheels? I have an opportunity to buy RF gear cheap through RF themselves and was considering the wheelset.

This is all good for Yeti, they were in a pretty weird position- retired the SB66 and launched the supposedly better 650b version, then discovered absolutely none of their pros were prepared to ride it and insisted on using the old bike. How do you sell a bike that you can't even get your contracted riders to ride for free?

No carbon from Nukeproof, bit of a shame but the bikes all look very well specced as always and the colours look slightly better than better than before. Like the Bird still a little heavy for my liking, but I suppose if you're not overly bothered about that they'll be great fun to ride!

I'm not sure carbon is the right way to go for Nukeproof (or any similar brands) they will be competing against the premium brands.
Obviously it won't be carbon Nukeproof against canbon Santa Cruz but they will be up against the premium brand aluminium bikes and im not entirely sure they will win enough sales once they get over £3.5k
