Back on subject(ish) I saw a couple of the new Marins in my local shop this morning. Very neatly manufactured frames, great build and they felt reasonably light. Rear suspension looks very similar to Treks.
They look a long way from the previous Marins, it's certainly a complete redesign from scratch.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Couple more photos of the ibis proto
definitely looks slacker than the current mojo0 -
Damn, that Ibis looks nice! I can just image it with black wheels and forks... ultimate ninja stealth bikeCurrent:

Still think the bb hump looks gopping. Not a fan of any of their new bikes tbh, the ripley doesn't look that great, the tranny 29 is about 3 years late to the party and not particularly pretty either.
The original Mojo was a pretty ground-breaking bike, one of the first long travel carbon bikes, progressive (at the time) geometry it just seemed way, way ahead of anything else at the time. Since then they've done little that truly breaks the mold, they're always playing catch up with the market and nothing is truly innovative or different and I think they're still trading off the success of the original Mojo rather than innovation. Kinda sad really, they make decent bikes but I'd love to see them go crazy again and release something that re-writes the rule book again.0 -
Seat tube angle on that ibis is not good, it's going to shorten a lot when you drop the post.
Agree with Lawman on that downtube too.
New Tranny looks like someone fell on the mould at some point.0 -
yeah - I'm with Lawman - don't like the look of that at all. From a design classic to an ugly beast like that, what went wrong?"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

Sounds like they've done a Kona. Good stuff"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

Apparently they poached Trek's senior designer.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

I just want to know how big the water bottles are they expect people to run... You could fit a litre bottle of pop in their! SC managed to make the Nomad have a usable water bottle mount without making it look pregnant, and that even has the shock mounted to the downtube! I really like my HD but they've been losing their way for a while now. the Sl-R was dated when it was released, the Ripley was delayed a million years, the HD-R was a (not very well) re-hashed HD and the Tranny 29 should have come out years ago. I get they're a small company, but they're falling behind and the products just don't live up to the rep. Shame really. The more I look at this new bike the uglier it looks...0 -
Not technically enduro (too little travel) or a prototype but this tickles bits of me it has no business tickling.
Rocky Mtn Thunderbolt MSL BC Edition with 130mm Pike. Looks sexy.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
That does look good!0

That could be ideal for UK enduro. UK tracks aren't too gnarly and a bike like that would make the transitions easy.
I have done a few enduros on my Mega TR, finished well and didn't think a bigger bike would have made me faster.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
To be honest I am not sure I would miss the 30mm travel from the Bronson if I switched to 120 - you dial your riding to what you have in any case, I dont think i would change the terrain I ride - its not like I roll into a steep rock roll thinking its OK I have 6 inches travel - I roll in thinking "if I f*** this up its going to hurt"!
I do like the look of that rocky - very nice lines. But I will be with the Bronson for a few years yet.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -

Saw that this morning and it looks veryyyyy nice indeed. My dad and a few of the chaps who ride with us have or have owned Rocky's, my Dad still has his 2005 Element. Great bikes, always said if I wanted a more "xc" rig it'd be an element, really nice to ride and feel pretty capable. I've found 130mm of travel to be more than enough for most of the UK, only time I've ever wished for more is on uplift days. 120-130mm out back, a burly 130-150mm fork up front, a nice light but tough build and a dropper and you'll get away with damn near anything. I'll certainly be getting something in this sort of travel range again, the Thunderbolt BC looks nicely specced, the new SB5c looks great, the 5010 is an awesome ride and for better value you can't really go wrong with a Mega TR, the new 2015 models look a lot better than the current ones too! AS I've said before a carbon version would be very high on my list of bikes to try out!0 -
New Cube Stereo 140 looks pretty handy as well, nice to see they've shortened the seat tubes and lengthened the top tubes as well so they're not as back cripplingly short as they used to be.

Found a bit more info on the Transition prototype, it'll be called the Patrol, has 155mm rear travel and comes with a Monarch Plus for around £1500
Looks like they're using the same suspension design on the replacement for the Bandit, called the Scout with 125mm rear travel.
They're being officially released at Crankworks so more details should be out soon. The Scout looks like great but I'm not sure on the name, Bandit sounds waaaay better!0 -
:x :x :x
That looks awesome! really makes me want to change my frame now0 -
I've also heard there's a 26 version of the Patrol called the Suppressor0

GT Force - always liked them, but value for money isn't great normally!

Four models - (pulse) (mega am) (mega TR) ( scout) pictures are unable to be placed up until press release but your in for a cracking bike this year - flavour topics are ( raw/blue/green/1x11) arriving end of September 2014 .0 -

The force and sensor are also pretty gopping as well, but supposedly quite good to ride.0 -
My LBS went to a GT press release and the pricing is better
They had a Force with mazzocchi 350 up front and decent finishing kit for £2.25k
GT Sanction frame with float x and reverb was £1.5k0 -

But is that a very basic OEM Marzocchi with all the goodness taken out to make it cheap (like Fox and RS do) or a top end 350 rc3 ti evo?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I'm not sure, they didn't say..
Although GT still won't be as good value as say Nukeproof, although GT cut all the RRPs last year after they realised they were too expensive in the Uk0 -
I really don't like I-drive on GT bikes, hopefully they have improved it.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
