Are these cobbles really all that cobbly?
They don't look that cobbly - you're not going to lose wheels in there...
They only went on for a few hundred metres and still my body was in pain after riding them.Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed

These dirty cobbles belong under the wheels of specialists not GT specialists. Ie/. any mountain and time trial.
Why not divert Roubaix through a dirt forest for a little bit of spectator pump.0 -
I'm nervous. Hoping for good clean safe muddy carnage, if such a thing is possible.0
-
What time is the get go?'Do not compare your bike to others, for always there will be greater and lesser bikes'0
-
Not until 1pm by the looks of the schedule.0
-
will these secteurs coming out mean a shorter stage or are they going the long way round them?0
-
There will definitely be lots of action today, cant wait for it to get going!0

Who was it we lose last time they did the cobbles? Frank Schleck, and I'm sure there was another GC rider.0

Can someone please post a livesteam when it goes up.
ITV4 player starts at 2 and I reckon there could be mayhem before then!0 -
Just looked it up. Vande Velde was the other GC guy that DNFd.
Time gaps of GC guys, for reference sake:
Evans, A Schleck, Hejsedal
Wiggins, VDB, Menchov - 53 seconds
Contador - 1'13
Kreuziger - 1'46
Armstrong, Sammy Sanchez - 2'08
Gesink, JRod, Horner - 2'250 -
Not many of today's field have experience of doing this in the wet but this guy does
