Those blasted leaves on the line again0 -
I've just got back from being out on the bike and can report the sections of cobbles I done were bathed in sunshine. I am not in northern France however. (I'd like to clarify. I didn't go out for a 'play' on the cobbles, I just can't get too/from my house without going over them).
It's starting to look silly with the bad weather. The Strade Bianche roads were wet when the Giro used them but dirt hurts a bit less than cobbles when you fall.
I'm going to call neutralised stage. Although Michael Matthews has already gone home so maybe not.Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.0 -

My crude translation:
"We found the route slippery and wet but not too muddy. We have nevertheless taken the decision to remove the course from 2 stages: Mons en Pevele, which is very difficult and heavily cobbled, and the section by the name of Marc Madiot because it is beneath the trees and the road is covered in leaves which has made it incredibly slippery.0 -

So so far only stages 5 and 7 definitely out or have 8 and 9 been removed for definite. I hope it doesn't end up in a bunch sprint - we all know how dangerous they are someone might get hurt.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Indeed. I'm now at home sat on my sofa with a nice cup of tea. I'm actually now quite glad with this weather that I didn't do what I was originally planning on doing and going to watch this stage on the pavé.Correlation is not causation.0 -

I must say Greg Lemond seems to have improved today. He's actually saying something that makes some kind of sense.Correlation is not causation.0

Wonder if any GC guys will look to get riders into the break today. No point having all 8 around them on the cobbles.0

Pre-stage favourite Fabian Cancellara is in fighting spirits, having talked to CN's Stephen Farrand at the start line: "We go, we race, warriors always race. There are two sectors less but t won't change anything. It's going to be a mess, a roulette, a race."

Good to see Nibali is riding shallow aluminium Ambrosio Excellence (or whatever they are called) rims - I don't care what tyres you stick on a wheel a deep section carbon is always going to be that bit stiffer (and brake worse) than a traditional wheel.
I understand that riders going for the win at Roubaix want the aero benefit but assuming Nibali wants to stay up and in the lead group rather than strike out for a solo win I think his choice makes sense. The little clip linked earlier says it's been a few years since we saw these wheels in Roubaix - not sure that's quite the case but it'll be interesting to see what the other contenders are using today.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -

Surely they are head to toe in Castelli Gabba with rugby padding underneath?

I get the feeling that quote is going to be thrown back at Fabian a few times in the coming years.0 -
