So who is leading OPQS now then?

    Kwiatkowski I would of thought.

Interesting to see how this goes then, as he has said he was only there to support Cav!

No, he was also there to see how well he could do in GC. I'm sure he won't disgrace himself.

Unfortunate phrasing there :-( Last thing they need is another rider eating tarmac.

Well that is something of a relief! Still gutted for Cav not getting yellow, but let's hope he can ride to fight another day.

There'll be some big lads in the OPQS team that are pleased anyhow.

OPQS Dommies fist pumping and hi-fiving and Petacchi emerges from a self-induced coma

Although that Eurosport tweet might be a mistranslation...

Sophie Smith, Aussie Cycling Journo, reporting on twitter Cab has not broken anything and just has severe bruising.

Can't see that myself, looked like a certain collarbone but I live in hope.

If he carries on, I expect he'll be out of sorts for a while. Hard fall. Tough day tomorrow.

It says on the official TdF site that Cavendish caused the crash, "...while Mark Cavendish caused a crash and took Simon Gerrans down with him..." ( http://www.letour.com/le-tour/2014/us/s ... again.html )

If that's the case, isn't that enough to disqualify him?
    There's also this shot : Bryt69tCcAAlNjM.jpg

I remember Renshaw being thrown out of a TdF for exact same thing.

Good that Cav is ok. He needs to learn from this.

    Any news on Gerrans?

Everyone hold your horses. We have one tweet from Eurosport saying Lefevre said something. Another from the race organisers saying Lefevre prefaced that statement with an 'if' and an Australian journalist saying its bruising.

Until OPQS issue a statement we do not know.

Confirms what I saw on national TV for all to see. If Cav is OK to ride and he is allowed to ride then he is one lucky SOB. Just sayin....

Ah Peril, I thought you were going to make a joke about Gerrans having to wind his neck in on the yellow jersey ambitions.

Not sure I'd throw a rider out on the basis of an Instagram

Lol! I got yellow carded by RR for the Gerrans quip. No it wasn't his fault and it's sad if his race is messed up he is a plucky rider. If his race is shot then I'd love to see him work for Yates, he could help steer him to a cheeky stage win methinks

I thought your yellow carded neck-related comment about Gerrans was funny, I was just too sad to say so at the time. I've had another, stronger beer and am feeling a bit happier now. I am warming to Gerrans I must say and would love to see him help Yates do something.
