Ha Stannard got to ride in one of the red arrows!
I wonder if his brother's in the RAF? I know a guy in the RAF who apparently knows Stannard's brother

Haha thanks for posting the photo. Contador is the greatest. The fans LOVE him. What a boss.

Great touch of class from Contador. Can't wait to see him in the mountains

Bernie hits the front of the peloton. All is right with the world.

Why do they have all these idiots who have no interest in cycling, Geoff Boycott, David Cameron, Prince Harry, Prince William?.....I'll allow the Duchess of Cambridge because I'm still hoping for a skirt malfunction :)

Boycott is basically Yorkshire personified. Give him a pass, the miserable old sod

About three Sky riders got dropped from the main group. Doesn't bode well.

Contador has stayed in the first ten places all race. Valverde has been well placed.

Lotto riding very well as a team.

Lotto have monitored the front for most of the race, proven to be a good tactic. None swinging off the back to my knowledge

Apparently Navarro was in that group.

Petacchi hasnt made the main peloton. The majority of that trailing group have.

Watching American NBC coverage they just had David Millar as a studio guest asking him about not racing. He was so gutted it was painful to watch

Not sure who it was but what was that a special vest the Tinkof - Saxo Bank rider had on for carrying extra bottles when he went back to the car?

Yep. We discussed it about 10 pages back. Apparently it was Rob Hayles' idea according to Daniel Lloyd.

Loving the wave affect on the head on shots of the peloton, shows just how rolling the road really is.

Not wanting to jinx anything, and knowing the most dangerous bit is coming soon, but we haven't had any real crashes yet, have we? That's got to be a decent record for the first stage.

I am convinced Paul Sherwen doesn't watch cycling most of the year and doesnt live in the uK. Made so many telling comments.

At the start he said something like his family has flown in from Africa unless I heard incorrectly.
