From now on unless something incredible happens wight he other manufacturers I won't ever be buying another new shock for any bike made by anyone other than Cane Creek, it really is truly amazing.

Nice. Did you put it on the scales before you installed it? - what sort of weight is it, looks like a beast

The Pike however is getting on my nerves in a big way!

    How so?

DBA weighs 573g with mounting hardware, Monarch debonair was 408g with hardware.

The Pike is a amazing fork but it has the most annoying topout knock when the air spring pressure are equalising. Im going to whip the lowers off and have a look at it to see if there is anything I can do to stop it as its very annoying.

Look here mate, spending the kind of money you do on bikes is kind of ridiculous but ok because I'm sure you ride it a lot, etc. But buying a whole new shock two weeks after you receive the highest tech 2015 rock Shox one is just silly.

LOL. I never wanted a Rock Shox shock in the first place but I could not buy the frame minus shock.

So the charger damper would seem to be having issues, pretty big issues really. It has lost a considerable amount of oil through a seal or the bladder. Anyhow not to worry, rather than send the forks back to Bike-Discount for warranty I have done this:

Need a new damper adjuster too as that must have dropped off somewhere.

Hopefully once its rebuilt it will all be spot on, just in time to be short shocked for the Solo seen as this is getting a Fox 36 to make Cqc happy :lol:

I think my scale was off when I weighed it as it was showing up 29.14lbs. Once its back together I will weigh it again.

    probably his own mondraker rune

Well I'd be an idiot buying it if I didn't think that. Otherwise I'd have a different bike.

And how does the Rune differ ride wise from a Bronson or other VPP?

its pure taste thing of course, I find VPP more effiecient but not so small bump compliant, so vpp are probably a better trail bike where as the dune is a little more mini DH bike from how the rear end feels.

I definitely find the Bronson to be a great technical climber - just as well, some of the climbs in Whistler are monsters! Shame my legs aren't as good as the bike!

Rebuilt the Pikes today after stripping them fully, charger damper and air spring. They are now working properly which is something they never seem to have been since I got them. The annoying top out clunk/knock has gone and the damper is now working as expected instead of after my last ride been full of part oil and part air.

Seemed silly to pay $15 postage and not top up the order with 50 crush washers :D. Plus I do a lot of local fork servicing so if people just want a oil bath change its saving me a fortune buying them from Mojo or my LBS 8)

I dropped my Bronson (well I went over the bars) on my first ride - I heard the frame hit the ground even while I was still rolling to a halt. I was more worried about the bike than any injury I might have sustained!
