Twitter appears abalze with "Cadel lets Rodgers Win" speculation. Surprised that pointless nonsense scandal has passed us by...

Only watched the last few km but it looked like the peloton let him win. With 2km to go the lead was cut down to only 10 seconds then it shot back up to 20 seconds as they were about to catch him up.
Rewatch it here from 22kms to go (2hrs 17min in the video) when Rogers attacks and does an amazing descent to open the gap.

What a mad mad day. Riders were pinging off all over the place on the final climb and the peloton had their foot down all day long.

There's going to be a few tired bodies today for the TT. It could lead to bigger time gaps than expected.

A good win by Rogers. He picked the perfect time to attack.

Mud brothers. Adriano Malori and Chris Anker Sørensen. Both riders managed to finish yesterday's #giro stage. Chapeau pic.twitter.com/IpSvY0pNMM

Julian Arredondo: "It was a very long and hot day. In the last kilometers Riccardo [Zoidl] was working for me for the sprint but I didn’t have anything left."

Even if he had had something left, surely it would have been a wonder had Arredondo beaten the likes of Geschke and Battaglin?
Or does the term ‘Pocket Rocket’ (which someone here applied to Arredondo) have some validity a la Manx Missile meaning?

Strange that somehow BMC and Tinkoff between them stopped all the others from trying to catch Rogers. Is Twitter the worst invention of all time?

I don't share other people's joy at Rogers riding off solo and winning - I'd picked him for PTP today and now he's used up all that energy :x

That's the kind of picture which young fans will look at in 50 years time and say "cycling was so much more passionate in those days"

I'm sure the evil Dr. Brailsford will be having a word ; surely that's not in Sky's philosophy of cycling
