    Crikey. Superb win for Rogers.

This Giro is so Australian it should be a Gyro.

yah, soon as they got there the chase died and now I'm disappointed.

1/11 with 30km to go on 'others' as winner. Free money.. Thanks!

Had Evans over Uran as well. I'm pretty sure that went through also.

Happy for anybody to win like that (except Phinney). It just brought back bad memories of last week at TOC.

Zardini finished at +0:59 and Zoidl at +1:40. They must have exhausted themselves, being the only two willing to lead in the chase after Rogers.
Thus, plucky-lucky by Rogers; in the end a win by default (of the pack).
At least Zardini’s teammate Battaglin got a placing.

Ulissi missing out of the group of 39 which finished 10 secs back, so falls out of the GC top ten.

Didn’t see the climb – is it true Androni refused Evans a bottle, thus why BMC pulled in Pellizotti, and ruined all Androni’s earlier hard work?
Oh how the result could have been so different!

Yeah - it was very dramatic, almost ominous :)

    Great ride and win.

Evans - I am a mild mannered man, but every time i see him interviewed I get this urge to punch him.... *there, I said it*

That's what made it much less risky. He knew there were few fast men left so calculated they'd be a less frantic chase. Fair reward for a smart attack I think.

A smart attack by Rogers who thoroughly deserved the win but ultimately a bit of an anti-climax when it was obvious that he was going to win from so far out, as much through the concerted lack of desire from the chase as his own effort.

Frenchie, I hate to have to dig this one out of the valuts, but unless my memory's going a bit yonderly, back at the tail end of 2012 when the rumour of Rogers going from Sky to join Bertie first emerged, your immediate reaction was 'We dont want that dirty doper'

So I'd probably be a bit careful about dishing out the 'hater' tag

What a difference a year or two makes...
