Puccio looked a mess after an earlier crash.

Is it raining or are they all dosed upon on Tramadol from the last few days crashes?

2:40 to break. Regroupers. Some sad GC boys now having to race the climb. Good stuff.

What time are they due to hit the climb?

Bit less than 20 kms to the climb if my sums are right. The roads are dry.

Evans the Godfather wants it slowed down and forgets his luck on the earlier stage when he didn't slow down.

Reminds me of the Spartacus performance on behalf of team mates Schleck.

He might have offered some BMC riders to help catch the break in exchange. Business is business and all of that.

Wegmann with complete tear of left hamstring according to comms. Sounds like it might sting a little.

The peloton is in one long line now and the gap to the escapees has been sliced down to 1:10. Their chances are getting slimmer by the pedal stroke.

They gave them a decent stage profile at last (forgetting saturday's stage...) and the riders delivered. It's not harder than that. And we still got 35km to go and we didn't even get to see the first 80km of chaos.

The wildly overrated Arredondo goes for it again. Lightweight.

He's going for the KOM points though which is less exciting.

I see Arredondo is on big chainring but large cassette sprocket too. Didn't I read somewhere that not having your chain straight can cost up to 8 % if power ?

Did Roche just point out to the commissaire on the bike that Arrendondo was drafting a camera bike?

Looks suspiciously like Swift in the maglia rosa group.

99% of attacks in the Giro this year have been helped by motorbikes.

Commentators are saying Sitsouv (sp?) for what that's worth and it does look like he's got some national colours on his sleeve.

Edit - it's starting to kick off in the group...

There was another Sky just behind him. Would have thought Cataldo, but body shape and style looked liked Swift. Would be a surprise after his crashes, but you never know.

These split screens are just calling out for fore and aft bike camera views. How much is Cadel hurting those wheelsuckers.

    Incredible by Preidler.

Although I'm not sure Arredondo is that strong..

Will be interesting to see if they make it down the other side of this without more crashing.

Cracking stage. Go Arredondo. Top points again. Giro mountains jersey would be a big win. Shame Morabito went down - so so many crashes this Giro. Roche is not particularly good or clever rider.
