Farage unravels on LBC.

Of course UKIP are full of people with rather odd views on all sorts of things - it's irrelevant what they think of cyclists and similar policies though because people are only going to vote for them because of immigration and maybe EU membership as far as that can be seen as a separate issue. It's now pretty much accepted that the Blair adminstration deliberately tried to increase the racial and cultural diversity of the country as an end in itself - there have been insiders from that adminstration that have said as much. Any naturally left leaning voter who doesn't now trust Labour over immigration has no natural home - UKIP are just as good a protest vote as any other.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Although I am not linking them with UKIP in any political way, the same principle applies to BNP.
Their policies may be thought odious by the vast majority in the country, but for years they were the only 'party' who recognised that immigration was a growing problem for a large portion of the electorate. People who were concerned about the UK's growing population were branded racists, xenophobes and the like, by mainstream politicians and media. People had no one to give their fears voice and were seduced by BNP.
They have gone on to win Council seats, seats in the London Assembley and the European Parliament. I was shocked to find out that BNP gained over 5% of the vote in the 2008 London Mayoral Election, finishing fifth. London is an extremely cosmopolitan city, so for a party like BNP to gain 1 in 20 votes is remarkable and worrying.
Again, this has been brought about by the main parties failure to deal with the subject of immigration, which for some areas in the country is of much more pressing concern than issues like gay marriage for instance.
And no, before somebody says otherwise, I am not against gay marriage. Probably, like a lot of people up and down the country, I don't give a flying feck about it. I am just using it as an example of the Government 'Hanging pictures while the roof is falling in'.
This is a post from over a year ago. Apart from the awareness of policies of UKIP being more aligned with BNP, the rest is still valid.
I am still wondering when someone is going to 1) prove that immigration is having a major and detrimental effect on the country. Certainly some areas have experienced more immigration than others but putting aside base xenophobia, what harm is it causing, other than extending the cultural vibrancy of the country and supplying hard workers looking to establish themselves in a new country 2) prove that the country is really going to the dogs to such an extent that we should ditch progressive social policies such as allowing homosexuals to have the same rights to marriage as everyone else. According to the above post, we should be spending the legislative time of parliament on something more fundamental. I guess something such as repealing treaties we have signed with Europe or something similarly injurious to the wealth of the nation.
It is also not surprising that UKIP/BNP do well in European elections when the only people who care enough to vote are those with an axe to grind.0 -

To be fair the "National[ist] Socialism" seems to capture the nature of the party quite well; a contradictory grad-bag of political ideas - some of which are characteristic of socialist regimes...0

I know you were only being half serious, that's why I included the 4 Days of Dunkirk. Anyway, the political spectrum is outdated. This is better:

Valid in your mind perhaps.

Read what I wrote again.Their policies may be thought odious by the vast majority in the country, but for years they were the only 'party' who recognised that immigration was a growing problem for a large portion of the electorate.
I made no mention of my feelings towards immigration. I said that they recognised that it was a subject that needed addressing. Some people in this country DO feel threatened by immigration levels, whether that feeling is justified has to be addressed. If immigration is beneficial, these people need to be persuaded.
The reference to gay marriage was referring to the amount of time the legislation took up to address a simple issue that the vast majority were totally apathetic towards.
As regards repealing treaties, I understand that the Conservatives position is to try to renegotiate our membership to achieve a better deal. The result to be put to a referendum. I can't see a problem trying to improve our terms.
If you can't care enough to vote, don't complain at the result of an election.0 -

They're even nuttier than we thought. Looks like the vast majority of the population will be sentenced to death if a UKIP candidate gets his way. This man runs a care home by the way.

And this bunch of sh1ts running the show now are not too far removed. The way they are economically "cleansing" wealthy parts of the country and forcing the poor out, well, the only thing missing are cattle trucks and incinerators.
Frank. Before you and others start spouting off about right wing leaning politicians and comparing them to Nazis and Fascist. Take a wee look at the chart below.
It never ceases to amaze me that all you left leaning sheep seem to think that your house is in order. I find it incredulous that Unite Against Fascism which is populated by socialists, communists and most bizarrely muslims seem to suffer from extreme historical amnesia, when protesting against any right wing activity. The muslim element of members I find strange. They forget the 21st Waffen Mountain Division of the SS. Which was composed of Muslim Albanians. Hitler recruited Muslims to hunt down Jews to be sent to concentration camps. This special Muslim division of the SS was better known for murder, rape and looting (nothing has changed with some elements who practice this religion).
I for one will be voting for UKIP, I have even helped with canvassing this campaign. Yes, I am fed up with immigration. It is putting pressure on our limited infrastructure ie NHS, Education, Housing. I also have no trust in the corrupt mainstream 3. The Tories and Lib Dems at least don't try to shy away from the fact that most of them are from privileged backgrounds. Labour would have you think that they are all flat cap wearing, whippet owning blue collar workers. This couldn't be further from the reality.
The reason I will vote UKIP is to protest as best as possible on a local issue. This current UK administration led by the Lib Dem energy policy, is railroading the worlds largest off shore wind farm just off the coast where I live. 220 of the worlds largest ever turbines at a height of 600ft!! Taller than the Isle of Wight, which they will stand next to.
At least UKIP have the common sense to realise that Wind Turbines are inefficient and the most costly form of generating electricity. The cost of which you are and will pay for in your bills.
I'm guessing that this post is probably tomfoolery and joshery to elicit a response. No sane person would use the existence (in the 1940s) of the 21st (Skenderbeu) and 13th (Handschar) SS Divisions to make the point you appeared totry to make.
These were tiny, tiny elements of a (very) largely non-Muslim organisation who were swept into membership by living in a land invaded and occupied by the NS regime and its Axis partners and then coaxed into serving the occupier, often to meet their own (non-Nazi) aims in a global feast of bloodletting.
Rather beautifully, your rantola has spoken more eloquently against the Faragistes than any opponent could.
I salute you, but not with a straight right arm.
And the NHS.... without its immigrant workforce we'd all have been pulling our own teeth years ago.... and setting our own broken bones.0 -

BNP, Farage and a few other politicians really grind my gears. I'm an American, so I get treated with 50% respect as a foreigner and 50% as a non EU citizen who "doesn't deserve to be here". I always find the arguments against having me quite funny, especially when you present people with arguments about why it is isn't a problem.
1. Foreigners scrounge benefits and don't work- I work 60 hours a week and pay my taxes and receive no state aid of any kind. They normally go speechless after this.
2. My wife is Austrian and in the beginning didn't speak perfect English- Everyone has to start somewhere, and now she speaks perfect English after a year of busting her ass to learn.
3. We are loud- FARK OFF
I really hope this inward focus doesn't hang around long, and the people who are racists are exposed as such and dismissed within the political arena. I already struggle enough with visas for the UK even while being married to an EU citizen, and I don't need any more problems to stay here, care for my parents in their old age (without support of the government) and lead a peaceful life.0 -
The real issue with UKIP is that it is fine to vote for them if the end result is achieved quickly. That is to say that the UK withdraws from the EU and treats it as a trading organisation which was the original intention. However if this does not happen then having a load of UKIP members in the EU trying to shut the place down is not in British interests. The negotiating tactic of defending your interests whilst simultaneously telling your compatriots round the negotiating table that they are a bunch of corrupt individuals and should be sacked is unlikely to get the UK the best deal.
Like all things you are either in the club or you are not. If not then you need to separate your interests from the clubs otherwise you are just a lone wolf shouting at the front door with everyone inside ignoring you.0 -

From your original postI worry that this man who peddles something not unlike a sort of pantomime (nod, nod, wink, wink) BNP-Lite agenda is too often allowed to gurn his way Boris-like through interviews with the mass media.
So someone who has a different vision for Europe is automatically a racist?0 -

Hey I pay taxes and contribute *sort of* to the economy. Surely being polite gets me a pass!
What's worse: the fact i'm American, or that I've also got the last bits of Ojibwa blood in me from a dying group of Native Americans? I'm diversifying England in a huge way.
Where's the chamber?0 -
Or, could it be that i'm married to an Austrian and spent a lot of time there. Shall I fark off back to there? If so, send me on my way with a Cervelo for the mountains and I will happily go. I just somehow don't think Project Pinkie would make it out there too well with the gearing.0
